The host and his family were probably the kindest people I've met in Japan. They constantly went out of their way to help me with many things and allowed me to get the most out of the time I spent in Ono. I will always be grateful for this. The guesthouse had a really nice big japanese style living room, but also a smaller western style one with free drinks. The bunk beds in the shared room felt quite private and were comfortable. Additionaly, they offer breakfast, which is prepared by the host and can be asked to be made vegetarian in both western and japanese styles. Both were really good.

The 古民家ゲストハウス ナマケモノ embodied everything I look for when searching for small, intimate, locally run accommodations: - The communal area was relaxing and decorated with a polished minimalism that lends itself so well to the setting. - The communal facilities were spotlessly clean, and maintained to the highest standard one could expect. - The bedrooms were incredibly clean, and I personally found my room to be cozy with a comfortable futon and warm blankets. - The breakfast featuring homemade panini were tasty, fresh, and satisfying. - Most importantly, the staff was absolutely wonderful and took an almost unprecedented degree care in ensuring my stay was perfect (something I've seen to this level in, maybe, 3 other establishments in the world during my 100+ stays). I adored my stay, and I can't wait to return again to both Ono and the guesthouse again very soon!

I have no issues and thought the stay was perfect, but some might prefer a location closer to the train station in Ono.

Thank you for an incredible stay at your guesthouse. From the room to the breakfast this place was amazing stay and I would recommend it to anyone. The hosts are attentive and welcoming, even providing excellent recommendations with their homemade map. The place is spotless and cozy. We look forward to coming back!
