Mar Rosa - Terraço Vista Praia

When we arrived at the facilities an hour AFTER check-in, they were filthy. The room had not been cleaned : old sheets, unmade bed, dirty bathroom with wet towels, garbage not taken out, etc. When we informed the owner via whatsapp, she was dishonest and claimed she was uninformed that we were coming - despite having messaged us directly the day prior stating that we would not be able to check-in early. My partner and I sat in the communal kitchen, and the owner told us the cleaning lady had arrived, when they had not. When the owner arrived, she struggled to say sorry and was dismissive. We weren't able to access our room for nearly 3 hours after the scheduled check-in time (checkin at 16h00, we received the room at 18h45) which to be honest - completely derailed the evening. We had to do dinner later, and delayed laundry until afterwards which kept us up until after midnight. There is zero privacy on the third floor because everyone has access to the terrace. IE, you cant open the blinds or the windows because people can see you. It is therefore dark and humid inside, and at all times. Even going to the bathroom while other guests were on the terrace, was not possible because the window looks over the toilet of our suite. The guests below were loud, cooking at 1am and making gross noises from their mouths as though they were trying to clear their sinuses until the early hours of the evening. While pests are inevitable, its worth mentioning there was a gigantic cockroach in our room.

We had a very nice little apartment in the apartment. We had 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom and a kitchen for exclusive use. The apartment is very nicely furnished and cozy. The position of the house is exceptional, it is located on the edge of a little cliff, down the cliff there is a white sandy beach and the house has a terrace that offers a view on the beach and on the Monte da Guia. The beach is protected from the open sea and people swim there every day. We had one little issue on arrival with the hot water in the bathroom, which was handles quickly and effectively by the staff. The communication was very fast and kind. With 5 minutes walk we can reach the port and the centre of Horta. There are 2 bars and 2 restaurants within 50-100m from the house.

Nice terrace, but you have to go around a room that is private where they have their own clothes hanged. Spacious room next to the beach. It’s very close to cafeteria and some restaurants.

It was not possible to lock the room properly - we were staying in room 1, where we did not have the normal key lock, but we have button lock. If you push against the door with a little bit of force, you can open them even if they are “locked”. We were saying this to the owner and she came to explain us that we just do not know how to do it at 10:30PM waking us up and the other guests. It was not very pleasant experience. Another thing is that during our stay the apartment was not really cleaned. No towels were changer not trash bin taken out. The shares bathroom and kitchen were also not cleaned.

Very nice place perfectly located in Horta, close to the pretty beach and all restaurants. I recommend it 100%

The shared bathroom was ok.

The rooms are rather small but have everything you‘ll need. The tiny kitchen across the small hallway has simple equipment but sufficient for making and having breakfast on the outside terrace. In bad weather conditions the space inside might be little small. The location was perfect, right above the sandy Port Pim beach and walking distance to restaurants.

On the terrace a few more chairs and another table would make it more comfortable.
