Beautiful family run property that will make you feel at home. The rooms were very charming and spotless and the lovely hosts made sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful experience all around. Host is very experienced and guest-oriented. Inês was very flexible to accommodate our requests and even extended the normal pool hours for the kids to enjoy some extra swimming time-we arrived quite late for our check-in. Breakfast was delicious and having it in the garden, made our stay memorable with fresh baked bread and delicious jams. The host was very enthusiastic and helpful providing recommendations on what to visit/do around Vila Real/Douro region. "Host dogs" were extremely friendly and made our dog feel at home. We highly recommend staying at Casa da Quinta de São Martinho. We look forward to visiting again. Muito obrigado pela hospitalidade!

Too much to describe in words. All I can say is that I felt like we stayed with relatives, everything was absolutely spot on, especially when things didn't go according to plan and both the hosts and staff were delightful. Will return for a longer stay when I'm back up north, and this is a promise ❤️

Lovely and quiet. Comfy bed and lovely breakfast. We had a car and were looking for somewhere central and this ticked the boxes. Close to the Palace de Mateus and the Douro valley and the Parque de Nacionale, it worked for us. It has a pool so in the heat of summer would be good to cool off and relax.

If you don't have a car would be a bit far out.

Beautiful place! The apartment had everything you need. Very cozy and comfortable. Very hospitable and responsive hosts.

We were in December and it was chilly at first.

Location and breakfast were good. it was near the Palacio Matues, the family that commercialized Mateus Rosé, if you're old enough to recall that phenomenon. Also, two nice restaurants within a shop walk from the house. It was a fairly long walk into town, but pleasant and pretty. Down across and gorge and then up again into the old city center. The town was definitely worth a visit, with a beautiful main praça and lots of nice shops and cafés. The people were very helpful in helping with directions for walking and for catching the bus. It was easy returning by local bus.

Everything was nice. It's an old house with a lot of charm.

The location was perfect for us. It was only a mile from The Mateus Palace. It was a charming cottage in the countryside.

We would have liked more lights in the living room area.
