On a vraiment tout aimé ! L’accueil chaleureux de Xavier, sa disponibilité, ses délicates attentions envers notre famille, ses conseils judicieux et avisés, nos échanges sur l’Afrique du sud et les animaux sauvages… Xavier possède une réserve où il fait bon vivre, entourée par toutes sortes d’animaux faciles à apercevoir, Nous avons été surclassés et avons pu bénéficier d’une maison luxueuse, très confortable, décorée avec originalité. Une terrasse, une piscine et un jardin ouvert sur la réserve d’où l’on peut observer zèbres, buffles, antilopes, impalas noirs… et de multiples oiseaux. Nous avons pu nous reposer après un long périple en Afrique du sud et profiter des bienfaits de sa maison et de sa réserve. Les trois chiens de Xavier sont très affectueux. Ils alertent si nécessaire (passage d’un porc-épic) et on se sent en confiance avec eux. Les repas étaient gastronomiques : soupe de nouilles au saké, brochettes de pintades sauvages et de phacochères, steak de buffle, salade thaï, profiteroles au chocolat... Xavier, un chef digne du guide Michelin ! Il prend soin de ses animaux. Il les protège, engage des frais pour qu’ils soient en bonne santé et bien nourris, met en place des points d’eau et surveille leur bien-être. La sécurité est un enjeu majeur pour lui et les braconniers n’ont pas leur place à Hoedspruit et à Hippomoon lodge game reserve. Il est dévoué à la cause animale et il forme des futurs rangers. Xavier est un ange gardien de la faune africaine ! Avec lui, chaque animal a une histoire, chaque lieu fait l’objet d’une anecdote ou d’une aventure vécue. Il connaît très bien l’Afrique, les hommes qui l’habitent et ses projets en achetant cette réserve font de lui un conservateur d'espaces naturels, un vétérinaire pour la faune sauvage, un ranger, un sociologue, un anthropologue… Une personne attachante et respectable, qui fera tout pour vous aider et vous contenter. Aller chez lui est une expérience sud-africaine mémorable que vous ne pourrez...

The room was beautiful! Our patio door had a direct beautiful view on animals walking around. Such a fantastic and unique bed and breakfast! The food was amazing. Xavier is a wonderful host and we had an experience of a lifetime staying here!

Wir sind nun das 2te Mal hier und Xavier hatte uns vom Flughafen abgeholt. Es war wie alte Freunde wiederzusehen und wir hatten nie das Gefühl nur einfach Gäste zu sein, sondern willkommen geheißen, wie in einer Familie. Diese Lodge ist weit mehr als eine Unterkunft – sie ist ein Ort voller Herzlichkeit, Naturverbundenheit und unvergesslicher Erlebnisse. Xavier und Patricia schaffen mit ihrer offenen Art eine Atmosphäre, die man nur selten findet. Man spürt in jedem Detail, wie viel Leidenschaft und Hingabe sie in diesen besonderen Ort investieren. Jeder Tag brachte neue Eindrücke, spannende Begegnungen mit der Tierwelt und interessante Gespräche. Xavier hat alles für uns im Vorfeld organisiert und 2 Übernachtungen im Krüger NP möglich gemacht, den Mietwagen organisiert und alles was sonst dazu gehört. Das Gelände selbst ist beeindruckend. Bereits auf dem Weg zur Lodge begegnet man zahlreichen Wildtieren, und auch rund um die Unterkunft gibt es ständig etwas zu entdecken. Die Nähe zur Natur ist einzigartig und ermöglicht Erlebnisse, die man sonst nur von Safari-Dokumentationen kennt. Wir haben gemeinsam mit Xavier die Tiere gefüttert und waren irgendwie in den Alltag integriert. Kulinarisch wurden wir jeden Tag verwöhnt. Die Mahlzeiten waren abwechslungsreich, frisch zubereitet und mit viel Liebe angerichtet. Besonders die gemeinsamen Abende unter dem afrikanischen Sternenhimmel werden uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Was diesen Ort jedoch wirklich außergewöhnlich macht, sind die Menschen dahinter. Xavier und Patricia haben einen Platz geschaffen, an dem man entschleunigt, die Schönheit der Natur neu entdeckt und sich vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlt. Wir reisen wieder mit vielen wunderbaren Erinnerungen nach Hause und werden Xavier und Praticia vermissen. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die das authentische Afrika

The hosts are exceptionally friendly and hospitable and the location is excellent. There are free roaming animals on the property and the host is willing and able to take you on game drives etc.

This is not a lodge, this is basically a large house that the owner has converted into a hostile. We booked a private chalet and we were told we were being upgraded to the main house. The main house is a large house with multiple rooms off of the main living area where you will be staying. This is very good if you are interested in meeting new people and interacting with the host, however it affords basically no privacy. The host also has multiple dogs that live in the house with you, they are permitted to swim in, and drink from the pool, and are free to roam through the kitchen while dinner is being prepared. They are very cute and friendly, but it is important to understand that they will be involved in all aspects of your stay. The host prepares dinner himself, it was good and costs approximately $30 USD per person. The main issue for us was cleanliness of our room and the unexpected nature of the stay. The sheets clearly had not been cleaned and the bathroom was also not clean (a lot of hair in the shower drain, used soap, etc). This is not a bad accommodation if you are interested in a hostile type environment, and if the cleanliness problems were resolved. While i personally would not stay here again or recommend it to others, if you are interested in a very social type of stay where you interact heavily with the host and other guests, this could be a good option for you.

J’adore les chiens mais la promiscuité dans la salle commune n’était pas super. Malgré le signalement d’une intolérance aux produits laitiers, cela n’a pas été toujours respecté.

Très bon accueil de Patricia et de Xavier, très belle reserve avec de super animaux. Le repas été très copieux et merci à Patricia qui s’est adapté à nous pour le repas à la dernière minute 😍 Mersi bon pé

Un lieu unique avec une très belle vue, un accueil exceptionnel. Le diner préparé par Patricia était un pur délice! Nous espérons revenir.

Très bon accueil de Xavier qui a été un hôte parfait tant par son accueil que ses conseils pour le parc kruger. Nous avons très bien mangé et nous avons eu droit en prime un un tour dans la réserve où nous avons vu de nombreux animaux. Le logement est propre et la vue magnifique. Je ne peux que vous recommander d y aller si vous passez à Hoedspruit! Encore merci
