Oyster Bay Lodge

Nach einer ca. 20 Kilometer geschotterten Piste erreicht man ein traumhaftes Fleckchen Erde an Ende der Welt. So einen herzlichen Empfang von Debbie habe ich selten irgendwo erlebt. Wir haben den Ausritt mit den Pferden in den Dünen und am Stand sehr genossen - ein tolles Erlebnis. Alles in allem ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt.

Schöne Lage.

Zimmerausstattung veraltet. Schlecht isolierte Fenster. Entspricht nicht einem 4 Sterne Hotel. Ich konnte zum Frühstück wegen Magendarm Infektion nur 2 Toast und 1 geriebenen Apfel essen. Der Apfel wurde mir verrechnet. Das Personal war über meine Probleme informiert.

The property is far away from all the noise making it a perfect get away location if you looking for some peace and quiet. I love the style of the property and its close proximity to the beach and sand dunes. It is a very well maintained property. I love the pool and restaurant area. My favourite has to be the lighting of the walk way during the night on the way to our room absolutely beautiful

Everything was honestly perfect.

Excellent breakfast.Repaired flat tyre whilst having breakfast.

Difficult walking passage from car park to no 9 whereas everywhere else you have a beautifull wooden walkway to the main lodge.We had,the first day, some sort of infestation of droppings from lizard or other in the room.The room was promptly cleaned and treated to prevent another happening.No more problem for the rest of our stay.

Beautiful location , on top of a hill , very isolated, perfect for relaxing and listening to the ocean , 15 mns walk away from the sea . Hours of walking on the beach without meeting anyone. Pretty main lodge .Beautiful old trees, well kept lawns. Bushbuck and horses lingering on the property. Special attention given to decoration especially to the tables in the dining room. In the late afternoon it was nice to sit and work in the shade close to the swimming pool . Excellent breakfast, very good dinners .Very friendly and patient staff.

Driving the very long dirt road leading to the lodge is quite challenging. You don t want to do that at night. I am not sure we got the room we paid for as there was no kitchenette nor microwave in bungalow N.9. Nr9 lays also a long distance from the main lodge . older clients may not like it. Problem was the shower without any separation in the bathroom. Each time we showered there was water everywhere and anybody wanting to use the toilet after someone had showered had to take off their shoes to cross the bathroom. Also bath towels( I can be wrong ) seem to be washed with very little washing powder and at a low temperature . On the patio outside the room , there is no screen, no separation between bungalow 9 and 10 making it less desirable to sit outside head to head with ( in our case ) half naked neighbours. Rooms closer to the lodge seem better.

Das Hotel hat eine einmalige Lage, eingebettet in Wiesen und Bäume, 5 Min vom Strand! Die Gastfreundschaft ist herzlich und ehrlich, das Nachtessen war sehr lecker! Alles vorhanden, was man sich wünscht. Die Zimmer sind grosszügig, hell und geschmackvoll eingerichtet! Wir waren Reiten, ein tolles Erlebnis mit vielen Informationen über die Gegend, die Natur und die Menschen.

Die Anfahrt ist ziemlich holprig, ca 15km über Naturstrasse, jedoch mit gutem Auto absolut zu bewältigen.

The Beach was stunning an we loved the horseback riding

The room was relativ basic for that price. It was also very dark and not really cosy.
