Jero Griya Ubud

Ayu and her family took such amazing care of us! The rooms, location, facilities and everything about the place were all fantastic - comfortable, close to the centre while also quiet at night, and great value - but what really makes Jero Griya Ubud special is the family who own it and host guests. Ayu was so kind, helpful, warm and welcoming, she made our stay perfect. Suksuma! We hope to come back some day :)

The property is absolutely beautiful: authentic and carefully maintained, with family temples inside that give it a truly unique charm. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The location is perfect — just a 10‑minute walk from the center, along a street lined with many restaurants. The host Ayu truly makes all the difference. She is kind and always ready to help with anything — from taking clothes to the laundry, to booking a restaurant, and even helping to recover a bag lost in a taxi. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to this wonderful person. A stay that combines beauty, comfort, and unforgettable hospitality. I can wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic accommodation.

The room was great with working AC, hot water, and a nice balcony. Special thanks to Aya and the sweet cats for making our stay lovely!

Ayu is an amazing host, she prepared a special celebration for my birthday and I will never forget it. If you want to experience a really local accomodation in Ubud, this is the place!

Nothing to say, service was amazing

During our stay, there were lizards in our room which made us feel very uncomfortable. We asked the host for assistance in removing them; however, the issue was not resolved at the time. On our first night, there was a lizard in the room. We were provided with insect spray and expected to deal with the situation ourselves. We were advised that an alternative room would not be available until 28 May, despite arriving on 23 May. On the night of 25 May, another larger lizard appeared in the room. We requested to move rooms immediately, but were again advised that no alternative room was available until 28 May. We asked the host whether there was any nearby accommodation available for the night, as we were very uncomfortable remaining in the room, and were advised that nothing was available. However, we were later able to secure alternative accommodation ourselves that night at our own expense. We did not feel comfortable sleeping in the room and had to arrange alternative accommodation at our own expense. Throughout the situation, we felt there was very little practical support available to help us manage what was an anxious and stressful experience. We repeatedly raised our concerns and explained that we were uncomfortable remaining in the room, but no immediate solution was provided, leaving us to make alternative arrangements ourselves. A replacement room was offered several days later, but by that stage we felt the solution came too late given the impact on the first part of our stay and we had already moved elsewhere. We requested a refund for the unused nights, particularly the three nights before the room change was available, as we were unable to stay comfortably in the room we had booked and had to pay for alternative accommodation ourselves. The request was declined, with the host repeatedly referring to the non-refundable booking policy, even though the issues that led us to leave the property happened during our stay.

The owners were very warm, friendly and helpful. They can arranged for Mt Batur trek as well as other activities too. Property is really beautiful and rooms are very clean and spacious. And Ayu is the sweetest person ever :)
