Mount Haven

My family and I had an extraordinary stay at Mount Haven. Located high in the serene villa neighborhood of Asgiriya, this home offers the perfect balance of luxury and authentic warmth. The hosts, Dr. Nimal and Mrs. Lanka, treated us like their own family from the moment we arrived late at night. Their home is designed with exquisite taste. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink and they even helped organize a late-night dinner delivery for us. Their staff was wonderful, handling our luggage with care. Mrs. Lanka is a master of Sri Lankan cuisine; her breakfasts were delicious, and she so kindly shared her recipes with us. Dr. Nimal, was incredibly attentive, even providing medical guidance and care when we needed it—a gesture we deeply appreciated. A huge thanks to the house driver, Dammiker. His vast knowledge of local culture, botany, and hidden spots made our trips so much richer. He is much more than a driver; he is a fantastic guide. The rooms were perfect: comfortable beds, hot water in the bathroom, and massive windows that allowed us to enjoy the fresh breeze and perfect light. If you are visiting Kandy, this is the place to stay!"

"While our overall experience was wonderful, there are a few small details that could help future guests: Finding the Villa: Since the house is located in a quiet, high-altitude area, it can be a bit challenging to find for the first time, especially if you arrive after dark. It would be very helpful if the hosts could send a precise Google Maps location or GPS coordinates via WhatsApp to guests prior to arrival. Room Description: We noticed that the room size listed on Booking.com might benefit from an update to more accurately reflect the actual space, ensuring expectations are perfectly aligned. Hot Water Tip: For those who enjoy a very hot shower on cooler Kandy nights: the bathroom is equipped with an instant water heater. To maintain a consistently high temperature, we found it best to keep the water flow at a moderate/gentle pressure; this allows the heater to work most effectively without the water cooling down. These are just minor points to help make an already great stay even more seamless!"

バワ建築が好きでスリランカへ来ているなら、このゲストハウスも気に入ると思います。決して華美ではないし便利とも言えませんが建物のデザインや使われている素材、設えが価格以上の品質だと思います。オーナーが集めた調度品も素敵です。オーナー夫妻はご高齢のようにお見受けしましたがとても親切で優しかったです。お手伝いの方も笑顔で接してくれました。犬もかわいかったです。部屋に用意された水がガラス瓶に入っていたり(問題なく飲めました)、石鹸置きが貝殻だったりセンスが良いです。

素晴らしい展望と引き換えに、街からは離れています。なので宿を拠点に何度も観光に出るよりは、宿の中でゆっくり過ごす方が向いていると思います。現金決済のみです。

Nimal & Lanka were the most wonderful hosts. Their house is beautiful and our room was divine & comfortable with exceptional views. They offered a very homely stay, would love to come back & visit again ❤️ breakfast was incredible also!

The Dr. and hus wife were excellent hosts. Made us very comfortable. Great breakfasts. Location a bit out of town but peacuful

I have stayed with Nimal and Lanka several times before (and so has my daughter, separately, in 2025). Always welcoming, helpful, chatty but never intrusive. They are well travelled and simply enjoy the pleasure of hosting. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. And it's very good value too.

Sehr gut! Das Zimmer war sauber und geräumig. Die Familie wirklich nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns gefühlt als würden wir in einer kleinen Burg übernachten. Die Lage war recht zentral und doch sehr ruhig.

Ist uns nichts aufgefallen.

Hosts and staff were very welcoming and very helpful. The room was big with great views. Walking distance to the white Buddha.

Needed to get a tuk tuk into town, but the hosts were helpful in arranging this.
