"Quiet, Peaceful Traditional Japanese Retreat"

Ikuko-san is friendly, hospitable and a great hostess! Convenient to go to Arashiyama via the tram. Very quiet, slept soooooo well!

A bit far from subway stations, need to take buses.

"Lovely host"

What a lovely lady this host is. Fantastic! Very helpful and an interesting, talented person. Her daughter too was so friendly and helpful. They made me feel very comfortable in their home. Breakfast was cooked at 8 every morning and it was filling. The home was traditional, clean and comfortable. Bear in mind, shared shower room and kitchen. I was happy to be in a traditional Japanese house in a quiet residential area/Kyoto suburbia for a few days and while there I wasn't looking to go out at night so I wouldn't know what restaurants or nightlife exists around there.

The nearest subway station was a brisk 15-20 minute walk away from the house. There is a local tram station 3 minutes walk away, but with restricted services.

"A noisy room from everything"

The Lady made a very good traditional breakfast. We had the opportunity to see a Japanese house inside.

The house is quite far from everything it takes at least 30 minutes to get into the city. The worst part was that the walls are literally made of paper no soundproof at all. My room was above the living room and the kitchen so I heard every noise from there. First night the landlady was cleaning the house and washing at midnight(!). I had to go down to ask her If we could sleep. And of course she started her daily routine at 6am. Not a good place to rest :(

"A warm welcome into a Japanese home"

You will be staying in the home of a kind Japanese grandma who will feed you wonderful treats and amazing homemade Japanese breakfast if you choose to add that option. Her house is a bit far from the center of Kyoto but there are good bus connections to get there. The place is very nice and she does her very best for you to have a wonderful stay. Thanks again !

"Good place to stay"

Location: I thought the location wave very inconvenient, however the issue was actually with google maps. Narutaki Station is close by but GMaps gets confused on walking from it to the residence. The booking website also had issues with showing me where the property was for some reason. Host: She was very nice and a pleasure to stay with. If you know basic Japanese she is fun to converse with. Stay: Our stay was nice. Host provided more pillows at our request so those pickier didnt have to use rice pillows. Breakfast was good and my family enjoyed it each morning.

Booking/google maps had issues with maps and directions but this is not the host fault.
