The manager, Alex , was amazing, very resourceful, and the staff generally was hardworking. The beach was right there, with the sand starting right outside our door. Hot water was available, and on the day we arrived, we got there late due to a delay in our flight. The driver was waiting for us at the airport, and we paid the same price we'd agreed on, and the kitchen was closed, but Alex made us amazing chipsmayai(fries and eggs). It was next to other hotels, so we had diverse culinary options. And jambiani Beach was calm but close enough to Paje whenever we wanted excitement and adventure. The staff helped us book fairly cheaper trips and activities compared to the prices I got from activity agents before getting there, I was also advised on which trips were similar so we didn't spend too much money for repeated experiences we didn't require.

The electricity was unstable, and so was the internet. The room we got didn't have a fridge and ac, although we had fans above our bed that helped. The tea cups were like play cups, so tiny. We didn't enjoy the tea not only because of the cup size but also because it tasted salty. The breakfast was limited and repetitive, I didn't mind that, but my family did.Overall, the ambiance was conducive for a holiday, very laid-back not the fancy resort kind, but very homey... I'd go back again.

Lovely, cosy, quiet hotel that looks exactly the same in reality as in the pictures. Tastefully furnished and decorated in typical local style. Outdoor areas to relax in with friendly, helpful and unpretentious staff. Breakfast was fresh and good (although it would be nice if one or two more things could be added as it gets a bit boring after a week of eating pretty much the same thing, even if it tastes good). If you ask, the staff will organise tours and activities for you. As I have a walking disability, I was helped immediately or picked up when I had difficulties with where to go. Living in another African country where life is not safe at all and everyone hides behind high walls and security measures, I really enjoyed the feeling of peace and security in the hotel and on the island. I would definitely come back.

What I didn't like and my only disappointment, to be honest, was my room. I had booked the deluxe double room with balcony and sea view (see pictures) and got the room under the roof (deluxe double room with sea view). This room was very spacious and also had a great sea view, but I wouldn't call it deluxe because of the decor and design (no solid walls, but open walls made of wooden sticks, raw boards as flooring and a very open bathroom. The furniture seemed a bit pieced together in contrast to the rest of the house. I wouldn't have booked it at all because I don't like this kind of raw and rustic atmosphere. Being unhappy I was offered a small, dark room on the ground floor, which I declined and preferred to stay on the top floor in spite of considerable disadvatages. I was comforted by the view and the fact that everything else was almost perfect. Next time I know what to ask directly when booking and yes, I would still come back.

The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. Dinner was quite good.

Located in a not so nice part of Jambiani village. The beach front bungalow is NOT at the beach front! We were offered to stay at the apartment instead, which was big, but in bad condition (and strangely located right behind a never finished building blocking all views). We had mold (even the pillows were molded), huge water stains on walls, roaches, a dead rat in a ceiling hole (image the smell). Water was cold for a couple of days, drain was clogged. Had several power outages and mostly no internet. Breakfast was unveried. Dog hair everywhere in "restaurant". The trip (spice farm & Stonetown) we booked through the hotel was the worst I ever experienced (the guide gave no or false information and was otherwise busy on his phone). We moved out earlier than planned and chose to stay in one of several nicer hotels in the area, which saved our trip.

This place is an absolute paradise! The fact that hotel is small, clean and full of people who really enjoys their work makes you feel like home. Alex was not only very helpful but also so kind and he always smiles to us! We felt there not like customers but rather like a part of family. Food is really tasty and the view there is incredible too! Everything was perfect.
