Basmatic Nubian Guest House

The guest house was clean.Mohamed is helpful and all facilities are within the hotel.the lunch was so tasty and with Nile sunset.

Het mooie terras met uitzicht op de Nijl, en de gratis pendelboot service van en naar de stad. En de klantvriendelijke eigenaar.

In de kamer was geen enkele mogelijkheid om iets op te hangen of neer te zetten.

So unfassbar herzlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein! Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit im Basmatic House mit netten Gesprächen auf der Dachterasse, Bootstouren zu Kamelen und Hunden und vielen tollen Tips rund um Assuan! Vielen Dank nochmal (vorallem) für die Geburtstagstorte :) Unsere Kinder haben es geliebt!

Die Insel hat Potential ist aber teilweise leider ein wenig rampunierr...sie könnte ein bisschen mehr "nette" Ecken vertragen (was aber mit dem Hotel nichts zu tun hat) und die Matratzen bedürften bald einen Austausch aber insgesamt war es dennoch eine wunderschöne Zeit die 10 Punkte allemal verdient! Ein bisschen Ausstattung von Beginn an in der Küche wäre schön aber es wurde auf Nachfrage sofort ALLES organisiert!

Mohamed and the staff are really lovely, friendly & helpful. Once we arrived after a long journey from Abu Simbel, the smile of Mohamed directly warmed up our heart and we felt very welcomed. The rooftop terrace offers a beautiful view over the Nile. The room was very spacious. Food options were decent.

The room was very basic. The hotel is a bit far from everything; so you don’t really venture elsewhere for dinner.

Très bonne Guest House, appartement très confortable, accueil très gentil et facile, le bateau de l'hôtel vient bous chercher au débarcadère. Île elephantine très apaisante. Mohamed propose des activités et excursions (felouque, Philae, barrage etc) on peut se laisser guider. Le restaurant sur le rooftop avec vue incroyable sur le Nil, la vegetation et la rive ouest d'Assouan.

Pas grand chose. Seulement le fait d'avoir du redemander les prix pour les sorties car tout était oral et beaucoup d'infos données en même temps! Nous avons oublié la poussette dans le bateau de nuit.

Very friendly and welcoming host that tried to accommodate all our needs. Mohammed arranged for our transfer from the airport late at night and our trip to Abu Simbel temple the next morning.The view from the rooftop was amazing especially during the sunset and so was the wonderful dinner that they prepared for us. Highly recommended!

Logement idéalement situé sur l'île Eléphantine. Personnel très agréable et disponible pour nous aider à organiser notre séjour. Vue magnifique depuis la terrasse sur le Nil. Bon petit déjeuner et très bon diner. Une très bonne adresse !

Die Lage auf Elephantine und der Blick von den Dachterrassen war phantastisch. Wir waren als Familie mit 7 Personen im Urlaub und bei Bedarfen und Wünschen von uns, wurde sehr flexibel und freundlich reagiert. Mit Freunden aus Assuan feierte ich meinen runden Geburtstag und das Hausteam hat uns ein super Frühstück gezaubert. Die Insel ist ein guter Ausgangsort für Ausflüge, ein Shuttle per Boot zum Festland ist sehr regelmäßig. Im Gasthaus wurden sehr faire Preise berechnet, für uns aus Deutschland momentan fast unanständig günstig. Am Abreisetag mussten wir 2Uhr von der Insel, das Hotel organisierte uns ein Boot und dann einen Busshuttle zum Airport, alles lief sehr zuverlässig.

Allgemein sei nur angemerkt: als Europäer kann es vorkommen, dass du im Straßenverkauf für Wasser o.ä. ein vielfaches auf den Tisch legst, wenn du die aktuellen Preise nicht kennst, oder keine einheimische Begleitung hast. Auch einer gewissen Aufdringlichkeit musst du widerstehen.

Nice family B&B on Elephantine Island with amazing view from 3rd floor terrace facing the sandy west bank. Small boat cruises exploring the famous first Nile cataract. Few minutes boat ride to island of El Nabatat with gorgeous Botanical Garden. Peaceful countryside area with no cars and motorbikes. Life as it once was - simplicity rules.

In Egypt is always a question of littering everywhere. In such a small community as Elephantine, there's no explanation for why there is so much uncollected garbage. Hope for better in the future. However, I strongly recommend this place!
