Liang and his wife were truly amazing hosts! From the moment I checked in until I checked out, they went above and beyond to assist me in every possible way. They helped me rent a bike, reserved a spot for my Mt. Batur trek, and gave me great suggestions on places to visit, eat, and shop. One of the most thoughtful gestures I must highlight is this: Liang’s wife generously lent me her extra phone for the entire week I was there. (P.S. I was using a Chinese phone, and when I inserted a local SIM, it got locked due to security software. I later discovered it had an international SIM lock feature that activated automatically. Thankfully, it unlocked once I returned to India.) Thanks to her kindness, I was able to use her phone for navigation, taking photos, and staying in touch with my family. I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality and support — they made my trip so much smoother and more enjoyable.

The family is very friendly and comprehensive.

The room wasn't clean. I had to ask them to change the linen because it was already used. The whole room smelled like human body odor, like sweat. I could tell because I had to go back two days later to ask about something I had left behind, and they let me into the room. That's when I could see they had actually cleaned it.

I liked the location, other than that I severely didn’t like the room. The owner was kind, nothing out of the ordinary though.

There’s gaps in the windows. Genuinely gaps. Gaps where insects/…. Can walk through. It’s not even closed off with a net. Basically, I staid in a private room but Jesus, I felt like if I put the light on after 8pm, I will get an army of insects in my room. I was flabbergasted how it’s not closed off. Also, the toilet attached to the room, yeah.. if you’re loud on the toilet, I promise, there’s absolutely 0.0% soundproofing due to these major gaps in the “windows”. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me.
