A La Maison Boutique Guesthouse

Donny was a great host. He gave us awesome restaurant recommendations and made us feel super comfortable. We spent booked the Lavender room which is Victorian style, it felt so cozy and gave off a elegant but old timey vibe. Travelling in and around the town was easy due to the location of this guest house. The guest house itself was beautiful with an old, antique feel. My partner and I spent our time lazing about in the garden and playing chess in the living room. The highlight of the guesthouse were the relaxing baths and the magnificent gardens.

No Microwaves or access to the kitchen area- Not self catering. Wifi password needs easier access. Providing more than one coffee sachet per person, per room, per day.

We loved the location, it was near the restaurants and galleries we visited which was lovely. Our host was friendly and helpful, small touches such as pamphlets for the spa or outdoor excursions were available as well as the contact details for restaurants if you wanted to order in and cafes, which were within walking distance. Parys is a bit on the chilly side, but we were well taken care of. Our room was comfortable and had heating available and ready when we arrived, which was kind.

The facility is geared for load shedding, however, we were only informed about it after the fact and our host just said we should have let him know the electricity had gone off and he would make the necessary adjustments. It wasn't a train smash.

The bedding needs to be changed as it was not comfortable. Also the plumbing is an issue. The ablution pipe makes an intermittent noise even during the wee hours of the morning and disturbs sleeping.
