This BandB was in a beautiful rural location and I loved it but if you like the city life it may not be for you.

Everything. The property is stunning. The rural location is rejuvenating and Lourdes is the most beautiful kind person in the world. A true "mullher do norte" aka a warrior with a tender heart and a smile that lights the world. We are going back next month. Portugal is a beautiful wonderful country. The scenery is stunning, but it is the people who make it especially wonderful, beautiful and welcoming. Casa da Eira Longa has embodied all that for over 200 years. Amazing history!

It was cold. There was this amazing pool and we didn't have a chance to use it. Surely in June will go for a swim.

We loved everything about Casa Da Eira Longa. Our hostess made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived and her warm hospitality continued throughout our stay. She went far beyond what was necessary, providing extra fruit, pastries and juices so we could picnic while out hiking. She gave us great advice on places to visit and restaurants in the area. We shared warm conversations. The grounds and rooms are great examples of traditional Portuguese fine craftsmanship, full of rich wood and stone and decorated with lovely plants and flowers.

The roads in Vilar are narrow, but that adds to the character of the village.
