Villa Babilon

Lovely place, cozy and clean, we had a room with a nice sea view. Owner was very pleasant, sent all instructions how to get into apartment, breakfast is simple but tasty. We had a lack of time to enjoy the pool but villa Babilon worth to stay.

The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and attentive. The apartment is very well located, just 15/20min drive from the old town of Dubrovnik. It is also close to the Zaton marina (less than 5 minutes walk) which allowed us to have a nice dinner.

However, some things can be improved, such as the comfort of the bed as well as the bed linen and towels that are already heavily used. The breakfast could also be improved, there is no menu and its quality falls far short of expectations. The ambient music during breakfast could be a little more lively. The water in the pool wasn't very attractive... maybe we were unlucky as it was just being cleaned on the day of our departure!

We were very glad to stay there. There was the swimming pool and the staff was very friendly. Rooms very clean, Air conditioning inside and very confortable to Dubrovnik city. With Uber in around 10 mins we were soon in the city. The swimming pool is an add and we were relaxing and then go to visit the city. I would like to return. For breakfast included you can choose 10 types of breakfast. We also had a lunch there and it was very good.

All was good for us.

First the room was clean. The daily housekeeping service contributed to a comfortable and welcoming, the where change the towels every day. The A/C was very good and also you got TV in the room, WiFi was OK. The food served at the villa was delicious, with a good variety of options to choose from. However, I found myself yearning for a buffet-style setup that would offer more flexibility and the opportunity to sample a wider selection of dishes. One convenience that stood out during my stay was the parking facility near the villa. Having easy access to parking made my visit hassle-free and added to the overall convenience of staying at the property. In summary, the villa provided a clean and well-maintained room, tasty food, and convenient parking. While the food quality was commendable, the addition of a buffet-style dining option would have enhanced the dining experience.

The first issue that detracted from my stay was the uncomfortable bed. The quality of the mattress was poor, leading to a restless and unsatisfactory night's sleep. A comfortable bed is essential for a pleasant stay, and this was sorely lacking at the villa. Adding to the disappointments was the tiny and outdated bathroom. The lack of space and the outdated fixtures made it challenging to use the facilities comfortably. A modern and adequately sized bathroom is a basic expectation that was not met during my stay. To compound matters, I was taken aback by the provision of plastic glasses in the bathroom. This lack of attention to detail and sustainability was disappointing and reflected poorly on the overall experience. In conclusion, my stay at the villa was marred by an uncomfortable bed, a cramped and outdated bathroom, and the use of plastic amenities. These shortcomings significantly impacted my overall satisfaction with the accommodation and highlight areas in need of improvement.

We thought that the location was very good. With the bus stop across the road,and the sea just across the road and down some steps. The breakfasts were tasty and we had good portions. Ivan was good at remembering our particular orders, and was quick to take the orders and then to serve them. Very efficient.

The shower cubicle in the bathroom is too small. A large person would struggle to get in and out of the it, without being unsteady. The bathroom door could do with some hooks/rail to hang clothes.

The room itself was very clean, with comfortable bed (there was a hard mattress and i love hard mattresses). There was aircon working perfectly and it was so good to step into a chilly room when coming from outside - the 38 degree heat. The guy that works there was super helpful and so friendly. TV had 1-2 english channels also that you can watch in the evenings (big bang theory, ncis, 2 and half men and stuff like this came from the channel). Housekeeping changed the trash bags and dirty towels every day which is so nice. There is a small supermarket just 50 meters from the accommodation.

It bothered a little that the housekeeping starts so early. Every morning they were behind our door already before 9am and not all the people that are on vacation wake up that early. Usually at that time I was just walking around in my pajamas and slowly getting ready to go outside and unless you have the "do not disturb" sign on the door or the key in the keyhole, the housekeeping comes in. It would be nice if they would at least knock and wait if there is any answer. Other than that, the housekeeping girls were polite and friendly, i guess the accommodation just hasnt set those rules to them to knock before entering, but it ks kinda logical thing to do. One morning I had my key inside the key hole to sleep a little longer and to not wake up at someone entering the room and housekeeping tried to open the door and enter at least 3 times within 10 minutes. And not a single knock. The breakfast was kinda small and you cannot really decide what you'd like to be put together. You just choose 1 option (there were 10 breakfast combos in total). The walls are quite thin and on the last night we barely got any sleep, because some locals who lived next to us and on the lower floor were running around having a little Friday party of their own, their kids were yelling, slamming doors, laughing, the guests were not even trying to respect their neighbours. We could hear everything. Other nights were perfect. Also something funny- if you go to the toilet at night, you can hear the people in the next room/apartment snoring.

The host tried to eliminate all the shortcomings but with very little success.
