We had a great stay at Quinta das Quintas with friends and young kids. The view is stunning, the outside pool is one of the highlights and gets great sun, and the whole property feels really peaceful and open. We loved being able to roam around, visit and feed the animals, and just relax in our apartment without feeling crowded or watched. Our children especially loved the playground and little play house. We stayed in the Alambique Apartment, which was spacious with a lovely deck. The beds were on the firm side, but we slept fine, and everything felt clean enough. A few quirks here and there (some tricky door locks and window blinds), but overall no big deal, and it just comes with staying at a quinta. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Lots of options like scrambled eggs, breads and pastries, fresh jams, cereal, meat and cheese, plus a good coffee machine and juice choices. The staff were friendly but mostly kept to themselves, which we actually appreciated. It felt calm and low-key.

One thing to keep in mind: dinner and bar service is pretty limited, so it’s worth booking a room with a kitchen if you plan to eat in. Dinner must be ordered 24hr in advanced. We cooked most of our meals or went out, so having a decent kitchen and fridge in our apartment really helped.
