The location and the beautiful rooms.

The location was great, really close to the tourist sites. The accommodation was nice, well decorated. The owner was very friendly.

The basin area in the toilet wasn’t clean. The kettle wasn’t clean. There wasn’t breakfast for guests nor a fridge or kitchen to make our own food. The cleaning service came to the room nearly at 3pm, when we were having some rest. They didn’t come back later so we didn’t have our room cleaned.

Very nice owners (they don't speak English, but we managed with my horrible Spanish). Very helpful. Location is down below the old city in "the flats" just on the edge of where the steep uphill climbs begin.

I paid double for this room than for the room I had 3 days earlier in the old Town near the cathedral that was in a very newly renovated 16th century seminary and very nice. Apparently some motorcycle event drove up prices (and left few vacancies in Cuenca) for the weekend. The room itself was in the attic of an old building, had multiple floor levels in the one small room, and the sloped ceiling was lower than my height (6 ft./183 cm) in all but about a square meter of the room. I couldn't stand up straight anywhere. There were very nice tile floors and a "vintage" whitewash to spruce things up, but unless you are pretty short, the chance you bust your head on an exposed beam are pretty high.
