Little Alaskan Guest House

Amazing value, max 10 min walk to free ski shuttle (next to 7-11), owner is lovely and helpful. Full kitchen, tables to eat at and only 3 rooms means never busy.

The dry room isn't great, but it works

This guest house has everything you need to stay for a long time. It has a heater in every room, dining area, shower room, etc. - and it was warm compared to other guest houses I stayed around Hakuba. Also, I would say Little Alaskan is a very cozy guest house, even if it's not a hotel, but you feel you are staying in a kind of small private house rather than a guest house, I like it a lot and suggest it as an option to stay in Hakuba. It is a good value in price and quality. But need to mention a few things - if you are not coming there by car or have not rented a car in Hakuba and planning to visit different Mountains - need to be ready to walk to the bus station, and wait for it, but that is not a problem of this guest house, it's just a situation around Hakuba - shuttle bus are always busy so you need to be prepared to wait the bus, sometime miss it because its full and so on. So my suggestion is to rent a car - it makes the whole traveling around Hakuba Valley more easy, comfortable and quick. And it is parking at Little Alaskan - so will not have problems with that. And one more thing - location: this guest house is not in most hangout area which is near Happo One, so if you want to go to some bars, you might need to walk a bit(40min) this is minus, but if you have a car - then it's not a problem to move around. 40 min walk is just 5min by car. And even if you don't have a car this place has a big advantage compared to some popular hotels around Happo One - Happo One doesn't have big shops around, except Lawson, but near Alaskan you have 7/11 which is better than Lawson and also, there are few big grocery shops which is very nice to have nearby if you gonna kook yourself.
