Hostal Universal Huaraz

Exceptional friendly and helpful staff. One feels welcome as a family member. Clean and modern room. Absolutely good value. Very good support organising the different activities in and around Huaraz.

I booked this place because of its good reviews. I've stayed at a few places since I arrived in Huaraz. I think there are many better and cheaper places than this.

My room didn't have hot water, it was luke warm. The location is in the middle of a fruit and meat market, so taxis can't reach it. It's always extremely busy outside. My room didn't have a window.

A lovely older couple keeps this place, and they seem to be always there. She makes the breakfast, which is basic but good and filling enough to start a day. Peaceful and central accomodation.

If you want clean....this place was spotless! The family running it was very friendly and responsive. Great value.

The location is right in the middle of the market and a very unpleasant smell. You walk in and out of chaos. Some may like this but it really wasn't for us.

The owners are so friendly and helpful. They let me store luggage whilst I was hiking and welcomed me back to a comfortable room and hot shower when I returned earlier than expected with altitude sickness.

Very welcoming and friendly hosts. Tasty and filling breakfast - host also made us sandwiches to take on our hikes for a modest fee. Comfortable and quiet room.
