"Our stay was excellent. Clean, Comfortable, and Accommodating."

10.0

We loved the staff, they were friendly, kind, communicative, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond for us. They also spoke English very well, which is not common in Huaraz, so that made this stay a lot easier for us because we are not strong Spanish speakers. The rooms and the bathroom were clean. The location was quiet so we were able to sleep well. Hot water was available (the labels were incorrect but there was hot water nonetheless). We had good phone signal/reception and wifi was available. The hotel staff also booked our tours for us which helped make our trip smooth and easy. They also offered to make us breakfast for a small fee since we had to be up really early for our tours. This was such a pleasant stay, I highly recommend.

The hotel is not in the city center , so it’s a further walk. However if you don’t like walking, the staff can order a taxi for you or show you how to use the local public transportation.

The people that run the place are really great - so friendly and helpful when it comes to information, booking tours or any problems you may have (they even let me check in early and check out late). The rooms are basic but everywhere in the building, from the rooms to the communal bathrooms are exceptionally clean/tidy and the beds are warm and comfortable. A really well run place.

The key downside is the location. It is a good 20 minutes walk into town (or collectivos but these stop running around 7pm) and there are no restaurants, bars or cafes in the area. Added to this there is no food available at Alpino (and no kitchen to make your own), you do have to plan ahead for breakfast and get taxi's for dinner (which is only around, 8 soles).
