Villa Maça Guest House

It is a piece of heaven, very well maintained, tastefully renovated, 2 minute walk from the beach, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The place has everything you need and is very comfortable for a one week stay. The kitchenette is perfect for breakfast indoors. There is a local market just 5 min walk away where you can buy fresh and tasty veggies and fruits. It is a high humidity region and the electric air dryer available in the room is a very useful amnity. The complimentary coffee capsules, apples and water one finds in the room upon check-in are a very thoughtful touch.

It would come in very handy if the kitchenette had a couple of stainless steel small pots - e.g. for boiling an egg or cooking a 2 person portion of pasta. The ones available are non-stick - not the best option if you don't intend to fry anything. But this is just a minor detail. One can live without. It is a humid region so a regular check of hidden corners which might collect mold it is something worth considering.

I liked the location. Peaceful and quiet, close to the ocean, cafes and shop. The kitchen was equipped with oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffemachine (it was leaking).

The room is smaller than on the photo. Our room was cleaned without a warning and the strange thing was that our personal things were rearranged, the bad was remade without changing the sheets (so what was the point of doing that?). The sheet was with small holes and one towel was dirty.

Nice location near beach, cafe, great restaurants, little market and an easy 20 min drive to Sintra. Bright cheerful rooms. Easy parking on street. Heaters in each room.

It is shared common space so others coming to rooms were noisy late at night.

Great location and a cozy room with a nice common area in which to prepare meals and coffee.

Could use a space heater to help dry things against the Colares damp air.

A little oasis in the heart of Praia das Maçãs. As a couple who used to live in town, we found the location perfect and the amenities just right for the price.

It is very hard to get clothes dry in PdM, so be forewarned. This is not the fault of the establishment, but a space heater would help as a drying rack
