Shima Stay holoholo

We loved our stay here! The staff are so lovely and helpful. Our trip was unfortunately cut short due to a typhoon, and the staff went massively out of their way to help us. We would have missed our flight back to Tokyo if it wasn't for them! The place is simple but really comfortable. Nice beds, everything you need in the room, good air con. The staff give you a new beach towel every day if you ask for it. Generally great vibes and would really recommend!

sobe so velike in čiste. lokacija je odlicna. Takoj zraven porta. na recepciji sva bookirala tudi izlet za plavanje z želvami. Vodiča sta se maksimalno potrudila da smo želve najdli in plavali z njimi. Amazing.

Our room in Shima Stay holoholo was exactly as pictured in the online photos. We stayed in a triple room, which had three comfortable beds, and our own toilet and bathroom. The shower was great, and felt wonderful after a day of snorkelling. Wifi was reliable. The air conditioning worked well, so although the room was not large it never felt stuffy. We really appreciated the coin laundry in the building. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location in the pretty port village was perfect. It is only a 5-minute walk to the ferry dock, and less than a 5-minute walk to two small grocery stores and many great restaurants. Shima Stay holoholo provided a helpful book in our room with restaurant recommendations, which we really appreciated. We ate at nearby Little Kitchen, Nanamaru (make reservations the day before), and Marumiya, and all were delicious dinners! Zamami Island is gorgeous and well worth a visit. We had rain for about half of our stay, and we still loved it. Snorkelling at Furuzamami Beach was so fun!

The common areas were only available until 5:30pm, so when we wanted to stay in for a relaxing evening, our only option with our triple room was to hang out in our room and sit on our beds. That was fine since we only stayed three nights, so it felt cozy and fun, but had we been there for a longer stay I could imagine it might start to feel a bit cramped, so in that case I would recommend booking a larger room.
