Quinta das Pedras

Our host made this an exceptional visit. No one could be more caring and helpful. We want to thank him for making this stay so memorable. The gardens are an artistic triumph. Each plant contributes to the exquisite visual treat. Inside, the place is an artistic treasure and a story of the many travels of his grandparents. I miss being there now!

The host attention is superb only overcome by his respect about your privacy to enjoy freely the property. breakfast: the quality and quantity will fuel your day The place and the facilities speak by themselves when you take a look at the photos: heaven surrounded by paradise. But you will really appreciate what we mean, once you get there and you are be able to feel the calm and the exclusiveness by yourself. very convenient spot to visit Lisbon, Sintra, Obidos and so on. Far away from the traffic and noise but close enough to get the capital in just 15-20min by car.

Quinta Das Pedras is a wonderful place to stay, Ricardo has created something very special and unique. He has beautifully renovated the property to a high standard and thought of literately everything from the design, the grounds right through to high end touches. There are only two rooms which creates a hugely personalised experience. It was wonderful.

So, much to like! Small, only two rooms, but perfectly formed. The grounds are beautiful with contemplative gardens, and the pools. Rooms are well appointed, spacious with super comfortable beds. There is a common area for use by guests, with couches, TV, coffee, tea, that you can use at any time. Breakfast is a good continental breakfast. But, what makes it special is all the little extras - wine on your arrival, little snacks in your room each night, Port and Chocolates in the common room in the evening. The service was amazing - the 1st day I mentioned I didn't eat cow's milk, the next day at breakfast there was sheep and goats milk cheese for me. That's just one example of great service we received throughout. An excellent place to stay!

Only downside is the location - there is not much in Belas so, make sure you get dinner before you return. That being said, it is a very central location if you want a base to explore the greater Lisbon area - 20 mins from Sintra, 30 from Mafra, Estonia and Cascais.

We loved everything about our stay! The rooms, the outdoor areas, the house, the gardens, breakfast, Ricardo! I understand why the property receives a '10'. Everything was perfect. Ricardo was great even before our arrival with his communication. It was an incredible balance of feeling like you had the place to yourselves, but Ricardo also being available if you needed anything. He even helped make dinner reservations for us. I already knew before we arrived that I was going to want to stay longer - one night was too short. Everything was such a treat. Ricardo's welcome, the tour of the place, the breakfast (everything was delicious - oh, I already mentioned breakfast haha). The rooms had everything you needed - well thought out outlets and lights, hairdryer, closet, fridge, etc. We used this place as a home base for visiting Sintra's palaces, and it was convenient with our car. We felt so lucky to enjoy coffee and walk the grounds in the morning while listening to birds chirping. Ricardo went above and beyond, and we are so glad that he and his family decided to share their home with travelers. I want to keep this place a secret but everyone should experience Quinta das Pedras.

Quintas das Pedras truly deserves the perfect 10 rating. Beautiful facility and grounds, and very attentive host.

It was out of the city center, but that was good because it was quiet. The location was easily accessible by UBER, so being out of the city center was not a disadvantage.

Ricardo is an excellent host. His attention to detail and good spirit should be a lesson for many in the industry. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful room. Very comfortable bed. Loved the sauna.
