The location is great, walking distance with the stations and shopping area.

No bugs. Quiet but located beside a busy walking and shopping street. Nearby restaurants both good and cheap. Shopping in the area is super. Located a three minute walk from Hakata Canal City, one of the best malls in Japan. Same distance to the subway stop Kushida Jingu Mae and to various bus routes. If location, location, location is your key to a nice stay, this fits your bill. If comfort is important, you can find better. The dorm rooms are big enough that you aren't stumbling over each other's luggage. The air conditioning works well in the bedrooms. The beds are big enough to sleep well in. Free wifi is strong. An international clientele - In my room, there were people from the US, Korea, Indonesia, and Taiwan. A 24 hour ramen shop with ramen for 290 yen and a veggie shop about 50 meters away make it easy to eat on a budget.

This is a place to sleep at night only. Spartan accomodations. No real lounge area or place to eat in the guest house, and no place to congregate and trade stories with other travelers. Don't plan to cook here. The carpeted floors in the stairwell are filthy. The toilets and showers are all located on one floor and it is not the main sleeping floor, so if you wake up at night you have to walk down the stairs to use the facilities.

Bathroom was not cleaned for months? There was mold on the walls and stains from toothpaste. Really disgusting… Room was too small for 3 people

The whole property is freezing cold. 4 floors to climb without an elevator. If you are staying on floor 4, the bathroom and restroom are both on floor 3 and the hallways are freezing. The window in the bathroom was open even tho it was 4 degrees Celsius outside. There is a curtain for privacy in the room but it has holes in them
