Kind and helpful hosts took outmost care of their guests. Murdo is extremely well versed with the region and advised us with an itinerary during our stay. Scott is a talented chef who made delicious vegetarian meals for us.

This 4 room hotel that includes breakfast and dinner is one of the best Hotels i've ever stayed in. For comparison purposes I've stayed at the Hassler in Rome, the St Regis in NYC and numerous Four Seasons and Ritz Carltons across Europe. the food is killer and there is nothing Murdo who runs Taransay with his son will not do for you.

If you are not staying at Taransay House while in Portree, you are truly missing out! The location is absolutely spectacular. The food was out of this world and the service was even better. My friend and I enjoyed our stay and would would book again if I ever find myself in Portree again.

There is nothing that I did not like.

"Wonderful House, Hosts, Chef"

Amazing contemporary property with views of the water. Interior is in excellent condition and has every amenity you could possibly want. A super king bed with large sitting area, roomy shower in bathroom with a soaking tub. Breakfast and Dinner was included with our stay. Many thanks to Chef Scott for 3 exceptional breakfasts and dinners that rival any Michelin star restaurant. All prepared with locally sourced. Thanks also to Murdo for all the best walking trails on Skye to fantastic service and great coffee. We loved all our chats. Can say enough good things about Taransay House. Truly an exceptional place to spend a few days on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

Amazing location; convenient yet quiet. Murdo and Scott were wonderful-knowledgable, helpful, and fun to talk with. Scott is an excellent chef! The meals were so delicious and beautifully presented. Murdo was helpful with providing insider information and tips. We loved our stay and want to stay here again.
