the hosts were so lovely, especially the mum with “a little English”! location and the views from the rooftop were great - much better than the pictures. good wifi, hot shower

the hotel next door plays music until 11/12 but it seems to only be the weekend, better than the noise of traffic at least

I liked the location, which is in front of the old city, on the other side of the lake. It is generally quieter and , in a short, walking distance.

That the roof was empty, and there was no food/drinks available... but as it is close to everything else, it's not really an issue

Clean and comfortable rooms, incredible view from the balcony. Good location, in walking distance to good restaurants and the attractions.

The Shiv Palace Guest House is a relatively new. It is family run. The parents who own it and the two sons that manage it. It is like staying at someone's home but the owners are not intrusive at all. You have plenty of privacy but they are always on hand should you need anything. The family is lovely and are very helpful and kind. Since this guesthouse is relatively new it is in great shape. The bathrooms are lovely with plenty of hot water should you need it. The wifi is excellent which was very important to me. I would gladly stay here in the future as it is in an area of Udaipur that I love.

There is nothing that I didn't like. It is beautiful.

Great location, central but over the bridge from the old town so calmer. The hosts were so accommodating and made us feel at home, they helped us with everything we needed and got us an extra quilt when we were cold. Lovely terrace and clean room.

In the room you can hear everything so it is quite loud in the mornings but this is understandable being so central. There is also a smell from the plumbing of the toilet but with the door closed it is no problem.

The location. And the family owning was friendly.

The family guest house has great location with 2 min walk access to the river. They let us check in very early at the morning, which was very kind gesture! There is no food provided, but you can bring your own and sit at the terrasse !

our water heater broke. after taking cold showers the first morning, we told the owner the next morning and he said he would look at it. we got back that night and the water heater still wasn’t working. they moved us to another room, but it was a hassle and would be a been better if they actually fixed it during the day instead of ignoring our complaint.

The proprietors were so nice. When I arrived, there was no kettle in the room. I asked for one, and the lady said it would be coming soon. Then she brought me a thermos of hot water that was hot enough for making tea and coffee. In the morning, I was given an electric kettle. It was still in the box, and it looked like it was brand new. When it was time to leave, I couldn’t get an Uber to come all the way to the guest house, so the proprietor arranged a taxi for me for only a little more money, that picked me up at the door and took me to the airport. The location was great, the room was nice, and the service was outstanding!

It was a little noisy in the evening due to music from nearby establishments, but if you want to be within walking distance of everything, that’s a price you have to pay.
