The Choudhury Manor Homestay

I was in Guwahati for 3 nights to spend time exploring Maa Kamakhya temple, but also had to juggle working remotely. When looking for accommodation, I stumbled upon Choudhury Manor and figured why not instead of the typical hotel stay. Internet, check. Big bed, check. Clean spacious room, check. Breakfast, check. Didn't need anything else. True enough, not only did it check all the boxes, the manor felt like home. Quiet, cosy, and welcoming, the manor gave me the space to work and unwind at my own pace. The location of the property is also very accessible by Uber and other modes of transport. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. Madhav, who managed the place, was helpful. In my broken Hindi and Madhav's little English, I managed to converse and get whatever I needed. He was also the one who prepared breakfast. His cooking is simple but delicious and wholesome and I ended up ordering lunch and dinner on some days. The owners, Mr and Mrs Kamal Choudhury, went out of their way to support my visit to the temple, even connecting me to someone who could guide me there. Thanks to their kindness, my time with Maa Kamakhya was nothing short of magical. It is all these little things that makes this place a gem instead of a cold hotel room.

1. Suggest to add an extension socket for the various devices that might need charging at the same time 2. Suggest to promote Madhav's meals better 3. Fibers from the towel stuck to the skin, suggest to pre-soak new towels

The Open Space all over the manor, the king size bedroom, the well maintained washroom, the well ventilated corridors. The great architecture and interiors to sooth your mind, body and soul and relax on the lap of nature and beauty in the mid of hustle city life. As Diggy is a 6months old puppy, seeing unknown faces, she starts barking. We would like to appologise on her behalf.
