If you’re visiting Pilio, you absolutely must explore the eastern side — it’s a true hidden gem. East Pilio offers the perfect blend of pristine beaches, lush nature, waterfalls, and charming Greek villages with excellent tavernas. The beaches here are among the best in Greece, and the area is ideal for anyone who loves both the sea and the mountains. The best way to enjoy East Pilio is to stay in Kissos — a picturesque mountain village ideally located at 550m altitude. From here, you can easily reach all the stunning beaches while also enjoying cool, restful summer nights surrounded by nature. The village itself is one of the most beautiful in Pilio, with several authentic tavernas serving excellent Greek food. In Kissos, I highly recommend Helidora, a beautifully renovated old mansion lovingly restored by Nikos and Irini. The house perfectly combines traditional character — with its wooden floors and ceilings, stone walls, and vine-leaf pergola garden — with all modern comforts. It’s impeccably clean, tastefully decorated, and offers a peaceful, authentic atmosphere. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful, making you feel right at home. Whether you’re here to explore the beaches, hike in nature, or simply relax under the shade of the pergola, Helidora is the perfect base. Pilio is a must-visit, East Pilio is a jewel, and to truly experience it, you should stay in Kissos — and most definitely at Helidora.

the room was very nice, spacious and clean. the nicest thing was the very romantic fireplace. The manager with his wife very kind beyond expectations.

Nothing..Everything was perfect. I liked it a lot

The hotel is a cute old Pelion mansion with wooden ceilings and traditional decor that makes you feel like you have stepped back in time, but it still has modern things such as the bathrooms and WiFi connection. The breakfast served under the grape vines was great. The staff are lovely and super helpful. Kissos itself is a beautiful village well worth exploring and it is easy to get to nearby villages or down to the sea.

We did get moved from a triple room into a double, as we were two friends we would have preferred separate beds. The WiFi did not work in the bedroom so maybe the signal could be boosted for the upstairs rooms. It was very hot some of the days we were there during the heatwave and there was no AC, so I think in that case fans should be installed in the rooms (perhaps ceiling fans?). Finally, the hotel does look out over the car park of the village, that isn't something they can help but it is worth noting as that also means there can be various noises, whether late night on the parking lot with people starting their motorbikes or early morning with lorries emptying the trash bins of the village.

The public parking was probably the only thing that was occasionally a little tricky. Everything else was great though
