Art Guesthouse

The room was very clean, and the lady from reception very friendly and helpful !

- Mooie locatie (voor Hungaroring), authentiek gebouw

- De douchecabine lekte, de eigenaar probeerde dit op te lossen maar zonder succes. Bovendien moest je de douchekop zelf vasthouden. - De bedden waren steenhard, zeer oncomfortabel - Er was geen koffiezetapparaat in het appartement. - De gordijnen in 1 van de slaapkamers bedekte nog net de helft van het raam; zeer onpraktisch - Keukentje was zeer minimaal. - Klemmende deuren die niet goed sluiten - Lawaaierige trap - En ten slotte, op het laatst kregen we geen gehoor van de eigenaar meer.

Room was spacious, relatively clean.

The glory days of these rooms are long gone. If you don't mind student-like feeling then it's ok. But for this price, I would prefer something smaller and less old.

It is a very quietly house, a good space for relax.

Art Guesthouse is located in a very residential area. And true to its name, you literally stay in an art gallery, surrounded by original artwork and paintings. The hosts themselves are artists and they gave us a tour of the gallery while we waited for our room to be ready. We had a specific reason to choose Art Guesthouse, which was the proximity to our friend's place, and so selected it without much research. But we didn't regret it at all. The room was very spacious and well-appointed, though the bathroom was a bit old and very dimly lit. Otherwise it was a very comfortable stay. We stayed only one night and spent most of the time with our Hungarian friends, I wish we had more time to enjoy a cup of coffee on that lovely verandah with a canopy of the magnolia tree.

The hosts had agreed on an early check in. But when we arrived there was a wait for about 30 minutes before we got our room. As mentioned above, the bathroom could do with some modernization and some shower gel in the shower would have been helpful. Thankfully, we did have some with us. The place is away from any shops or restaurants. They do offer a kitchen where you can make tea/coffee/toast, but for a proper meal you need to get to the nearest shops and having a car becomes a necessity.

The Hotel is very beautiful inside with many wonderful pictures, the atmosphere is great. Private parking is the big bonus. Owner is great, he was very helpful and friendly. The Hotel is located a little bit far from the city centre, so better to think how to get there in advance. By taxi it took about 25 minutes.
