Hippy Hut Koh Chang

Friendly host. Fast Wi-fi. Can order breakfast and other meals during the day. Location is 20 minutes away from beach by walking and less than 10 minutes on scooter. I stayed in bungalow and fan was enough to cool me down. There are some ants and other insects inside but it is inevitable and I got used to it pretty quickly. It is quiet and chill.

Since I didn't rent a scooter it was a bit inconvenient to go to the beach by walking every time for 20 minutes. Good exercise though.

Me and my partner recently stayed here and had such a great time. The surroundings are beautiful and it’s the perfect place to chill. Would definitely go back in the future

One night there were monkeys fighting on top of my hit which woke me, but that’s no one’s fault and it only was once :) Also don’t be scared of dogs, but that’s for most of the island

For value for money you can’t beat Hippy Hut. It’s in a quiet forest-like setting but only a short 8-10 minute stroll to Bang Bao fishing village where there are shops, restaurants, 7/11 and where boats leave for diving and snorkelling trips as well as other islands including Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Also short scooter ride to the best beach on the island for swimming with no rocks Klong Koi Beach. The yurt-style bungalow we stayed in had a fan, mosquito net, toilet and shower, and was clean. The staff are super helpful and friendly. They let us park our scooter there for 3 days while we visited some of the other islands. Hippy Hut also serves a great breakfast. Their Earl Gray Banana Pancakes are particularly good! They also serve really cold beer, which not everyone does. Happy Hippy Days. Love that you can also refill your water bottles here for free.

There are quite a few dogs on the street that you need to walk down to get to the fishing village and these dogs are totally fine. However if you’re scared of dogs it’s worth knowing. We love dogs and so it wasn’t a problem for us.
