Hostal Restaurante Las Canteras

The hotel was generally guide good for the price. It has obviously been renovated recently.

The restaurant was disappointing. They need to hire a cook or chef who knows that putting more ingredients than necessary in dishes does not always improve the taste. Similarly the person doing the cooking needs to learn that smothering everything in vast quantities of dressing or source does not improve the taste. 2/10 and overpriced. The wine we had was good. Breakfast was much better than our supper.

Easy parking. Dinner was enjoyable, finished our bottle of wine outside away from the road overlooking farm land. A lot of locals using the bar and restaurant.

No breakfast as was a rest day (Weds). Rooms a bit tired. Slightly odd smell in the room, I think it was the diffuser sticks! To be fair we can't really complain about the price.

Bed to small, there was a party on saturday with very loud music that made me impossible to rest. Sound isolation on the rooms is nonexistent and you can hear the ac from other rooms or people speaking. The restaurant on sunday morning was closed so no breakfast.

Needed a place to stay for the night on our journey from Portimao to Cartagena. This place was good, just a few Kms off the A92. Staff very friendly, room and ensuite very clean, bed comfortable. Woke up refreshed and ready to go.

We needed transit stay for 1 night and for this purpose it was a perfect place. Easy to find, a lot of space for parking right before entrance, possibly of late check-in, good bar and restaurant in the same building, where we could have supper and breakfast. Room was small, but clean and comfortable. Approximately at 0-30 all noise from restaurant calmed and we had good rest :)

Ladies in restaurant who gave us keys and where we ordered meal and drinks did not speak English :/ it was a bit difficult to communicate, but nevertheless they were helpful and friendly and we got all what we needed, thanks to them :)

Typical Spanish breakfast not included in the price, it is rural Spain for over night stays, coffee & toast excellent.. Great for stop over if touring Andalucia

Wednesday bar/restaurante closed for rest day but other bars nearby.
