Right at the end of beach road so no traffic in the vicinity. Comfortable bed in quaint hut. My daughter could escape my snoring in the mezzanine bed. Owners/hosts are absolutely fantastic. Breakfasts were better than you will get in many of the upmarket hotels. Have to repeat others comments about Rafi's homemade bread that came with breakfast - we took a loaf onward with our travels.

Not spending more time as surf wasn't cooperating that week.

My husband and I spent 20 days at Sunsets At Sumbul, and it truly became a sanctuary of peace, beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Rafi, Brad, their lovely children, and the incredible staff welcomed us not just as guests—but as family. Every detail of our stay was infused with warmth and care. The delicious breakfasts each morning, the fresh fruit left for us weekly, and the thoughtful touches around the cabin made it feel like home—only better. Rafi and Brad’s generosity, attention to detail, and genuine kindness created an atmosphere of tranquility and joy that we will carry with us forever. If you’re looking for a place to relax, reconnect, and be genuinely cared for, Sunsets At Sumbul is that rare gem. We are forever grateful and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The location on the beach was exactly where we wanted to be. Rafi was a perfect host and looked after us especially her delicious sourdough. Restaurants are very close by and good value for dinner and lunch.

Just absolutely loved our stay here. Lovely accomodation, delicious breakfasts, quiet location, use of a pool and right next to a fabulous restaurant 😋. What made it so fabulous were the hosts Rafih and Brad and their gorgeous staff, they basically open their own home and treat you as one of the family, nothing is a problem for them and loved all the great conversation about life in Indonesia. Loved Medewi beach also, bit like Bali of old alot less touristy. 👍😁

Quiet and private. Lovely local feel, especially at sunset. Had everything you needed. Rafi and her girls were so welcoming and made the most delicious breakfasts- particularly Raif’s home made sourdough.

It would be great to have a pool at the property.

The place is ideal for people who want to take a break from the crowds and bustle of big cities surrounded by cordial people, in a silence that is interrupted only by the sound of the ocean waves. The bungalows are beautifully decorated in Balinese style, Equipped with everything you need. Large beds, hot water, shower, toilet, TV. The terrace of the bungalow overlooks the beach and the ocean. A place great for relaxing and leaving the daily affairs far away. The breakfasts served by Rafi are fresh, varied and plentiful. And from the terrace where we eat them we have a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean. Rafi and her team are so hospitable and helpful that they will fulfill every request of guests and you feel that they do not out of obligation but out of pleasure. An example of this is my adventure. During my stay I broke my leg. Brad drove me to the hospital, spent several hours there with me, and helped me interact with the staff. I felt that he took care of me like a brother. The next day he offered to bring my wife to the hospital to visit me. Brad also visited me in the hospital the next day. Such behavior of hotel or guesthouse owners is exceptional and happens unheard of, so I was touched. I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone to spend a vacation at Sunsets at Sumbul: because of the beautiful location, the peace and quiet, the facilities of the bungalows, the great breakfasts and the exceptional hospitality of the owners. If it works out for me, I will gladly return there.
