This is among the worse places I've ever had to stay. 1) Sleep quality. The first night, my bed was so uncomfortable that I slept on the floor on a yoga mat. I am a champion sleeper: I can sleep in almost any environment. The bed, the pillows that felt like a bunch of balled-up socks thrown into a pillowcase, and the noise from other residents playing music at 1 am, talking and snoring on the other side of the paper-thin walls, kids running up and down. When I complained, they added a mattress topper, new pillows, and a fresher duvet (thank you), but it made me wonder why the bed was so bad in the first place if they had the ability to improve it. (The improved bed was bearable but by no means comfortable.) 2) Cleanliness: They leave breakfast stuff out all day, which is helpful on the one hand, but they also ask people to eat takeaway in the main guest area (fair, to prevent smells in rooms) which means there's a constant pile of dirty dishes on a cart in a public area. When I arrived, I found hairs in my bathroom, a stained towel, and the last resident's trash in the trash can. 3) Location: It's just over the bridge from the mainland to Skye, and it's an hour from most stuff. I knew this when I booked, but reminder that the roads are windy and you want to move slowly. Not ideal. 4) "Atmosphere" -- Not the owners' fault, but the other guests were horrible. Loud, messy. Racist dog-whistle comments at breakfast. Kid noises were rough. I don't think they have quiet hours that they enforce. Things were bad enough that I considered just paying for an Airbnb and leaving, eating the money. I was too cheap to do that, but, wow. I cannot not-recommend this hotel enough.

For a property where the check in is all automated, it went well.

Our room was at the front of the building and had a security light on all night right outside our window. Result was a very poor nights sleep! The following morning the breakfast room was baking hot, almost as if a heater had been left on. We had to leave early to get the ferry but before we left we opened the side doors to let some heat out and air in!

Location and clean

Continental breakfast? Day 2 no hot water for Tea , bread and cutlery. But , I suppose we should not expect., as it is to be a continental and perhaps tea / coffee is provided in the bed rooms , which should be sufficient .
