Pelangi Cottages Gili Air

We had a wonderful stay at Pelangi Cottages! The location is amazing, right in front of the sea. The cottage was very clean and the aircon worked perfectly, which made it very comfortable. The bathroom was also very cozy and nicely designed. The staff are absolutely fantastic—always smiling, friendly, and very attentive. Every night there is a grill with the fishing of the day and a fire show, which is very fun and entertaining. The sea in front of the cottages is beautiful—super clear, calm, and not very deep, so it almost feels like swimming in a natural pool. They also offer tours, which makes it very convenient to explore the area.

The only small thing to keep in mind (not related to the cottages themselves) is that the beach around the island has quite a lot of coral, so walking in the water can be a bit difficult. Sometimes there is also some trash washed up on the beach, which seems to be a general issue on the island. We recommend bringing water shoes.

We loved our stay at Pelangi. The team are so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are great, stay cool, good facilities, a couple cute cats around. The beach loungers are perfect, live music is a nice addition on Sundays. Everything suited us both as a couple in our 30s and my mum too. We did a private snorkelling tour too which was amazing, lots of turtles and incredible fish. Would recommend!

Everything and everyone

Great location on the beach . Easy to travel by bicycle or scooter .from the harbour . Very friendly , kind & helpful staff , nothing was too much trouble . They organised a trip on the public snorkelling boat with pick up just a 8/10 minute walk away ( easier than getting to harbour ) . Restaurant good & with local fish . Entertainment / singer on some nights which was fun . Nice breakfast provided .

Too much music all the time especially in the evenings. Every evening someone or the other plays live extremely loud music.this place is not for early sleepers.

We LOVED the cool, fun, kind staff - they include you like family or friends. When you walk in, they remember you as well, what you liked and honestly care about their guests. The amenities they offer are really great as well, multiple days a week there is live music (we absolutely recommend you go to) and a fire show, or other fun stuff. We absolutely fell in love with Gili Air and Pelangi was definitely one of the reasons for it too. Their outdoor area by the beach is very nice, good drinks and good people. Honestly I’d say the cleanest and most picturesque beach we’ve seen on Gili. Breakfast was good! The bathroom is half inside with an open window but we thought that was kind of an experience.

It is kind of far from the harbor, especially when you travel with luggage. You can request a horse carriage though if you do not feel like walking the 20-30 min up to Pelangi.

The location is good, the staff was very friendly, especially Phuto, a great person, the cabin with the open bathroom was a good idea., always good music, the bonfire to watch the sunset was very good.

Unfortunately we did not take into account the location of our cabin and since it was next to the restaurant and bar the noise was a bit uncomfortable, the lack of ingredients in their kitchen made us go out to eat elsewhere

LOVED our stay here!!! such a gorgeous little spot on a gorgeous island, run by gorgeous friendly people! we had a lovely room with such comfy beds (which needed to use more than I thought as I got ill one of the days. also meant they brought breakfast to our room which was so kind!) loved the ginger cats too, we semi adopted one for our 2 day stay and I still miss him!

be prepared for a little walk from the port... but that's if you're cheap like us and don't want to get a carriage! and also the island is SO small so it's only about 20 mins, just far if you have big bags like us and you arrive in the middle of the day.....
