Guest House Basilea

We were staying here 11 days and we totally loved it! Hospitality of Mahesh, the owner is incredible! Every morning you can watch chipmunks while you are eating delicious breakfast. Cleanliness of your room is also stunning. I felt like home, thank you. Beach and shop close by.

Appliances could be better

Maheshi and her beautiful family could not have been any kinder to me during my stay at their lovely home. During my time there, I felt like I was being welcomed as one of the family. They helped me with medicine, tuktuks, trains etc. The room was so comfortable and spacious, with mosquito net around the bed and air conditioning. The bathroom was so clean and had a large, powerful shower. There is a wonderful rooftop perfect for morning yoga surrounded by the beautiful trees and plants growing around the house. Breakfast is served on a balcony each morning and you can hear birds singing. There is also a kitchen available for guests to use to prepare and store your own food. The best breakfast I have had in Sri Lanka - everything from homemade milk rice to sambol to omelettes and fresh fruit and bread. Maheshi was so generous with the portion size and the food was so delicious. She also offered tea throughout my stay and helped me to recover from illness. Thank you so much Maheshi and family x

Very nice family, happy to help you with any issues. Food is delicious, and the breakfast plentiful. Around 10 mins to walk to the nice beach.

The family is amazing, they helped us with everything and they are so friendly and kind, it feels like home. Beautiful Garden with many different birds and squirrels. We loved it, it was the perfect stay and a wonderful experience!

Our stay was lovely, the place is beautiful, with many birds around, beautiful garden too. Very quiet area. Big rooms, clean, nice breeze. Very accommodating guests, with my partner having allergies they prepared a special breakfast for him.

Great hospitality and value for money

The owner is wonderful, really taking care of you, and open to share good stories and details about life in Sri Lanka The breakfast is great, and the room is good size. The garden, the kitchen are a big plus.

The room was quite warm. I knew it would be a room without air conditioning, but was more warm than other similar places. There is a vent and windows, but still it was difficult to get decent cool air flow.

The host were really friendly and welcoming, a lovely room, a fab breakfast and private parking. Just 10 min walk to the beautiful beaches as well.
