Janur Bungalow

Het was een klein paradijsje in een pottenbakkers dorpje dichtbij de Borobudur. De bungalows zijn prachtig, goede bedden, zeer schoon, voortreffelijk ontbijt (vers gebakken en van de markt) en met liefde gemaakt en opgediend. Ontzettend aardig en lief personeel in alle facetten van ontbijt, schoonmaak, rijservice en de mooie lach op het gezicht. Ook een heel fijn zwembad,klein maar heel fijn. Zonder chemicaliën en zeer schoon. Een aantal lieve aaibare katten. Wij verbleven 4 nachten en het was echt een vakantiegevoel voor ons in deze kleinschalige accommodatie.

Voor ons was het geen enkel probleem maar voor sommigen kan de omroepen voor het gebed uit de diverse moskeeën in de omgeving wellicht heftig zijn. Wij ervaren het echter als het lokale leven in plaats van het toeristen leven.

The location. The welcoming by Mr Bobby and his staff The incredible architecture and decoration of the place, the swimming pool and the rooms ! The super good breakfasts..and.flotting breakfast. The help to find a driver to visit the temples and Yogya ..Mr.Hamid was a perfect driver to explain and drive us in security and kindness !! We recommand this hotel !

Bobby the owner is a beauty. He really goes above and beyond for you. He hasn't overwhelmed him self for extra money and focuses his attention on his select few guests. It's a great recipe. The property is gorgeous for being so small and it's perfect place to chill out

Bobby! The beds bro! A little nicer mattresses and a second pillow - were Westerners, we are soft! Charge everyone 10$ a night more and upgrade that and it would be a perfect stay.

The owner Bobby is very cool and kind. We had a very good unique 'nasi goreng' breakfast. This place is quiet, exactly what we were looking for.

Beautiful environment. The owner put a lot of effort building this place. The pool was refreshing and very clean. The breakfast was fine (you can choose between eggs or omelette and they give you fruit, coffee or tea). The owner is super friendly and can help you organize your days around Borobudur. Only 10 mins away from the temple by car.

the bed wasn't great and the pillow smelled bad. Also, there wasn't much privacy as there are windows everywhere and people could see through.

Loved our stay here - so much better than a generic hotel! So tastefully decorated from the entrance door and koi fishpond through the beautifully designed grounds that looked like a little fairytale with the pool, fairy lights and traditional Java rooms to our beautiful room (white deluxe one with a lovely colourful sofa outside) with a comfy bed, barefoot chic bathroom, good a/c, fridge if you need it, easy wifi. The owner Bobby was great from start to finish, excellent comms and info upfront, extremely helpful with our Borobadur tickets, very welcoming and always available to help. Go on the village tour with him - it’s a fascinating window into the natural abundance of the countryside and the lives of the super friendly people who live there. My mini morning walk around the corner to see the sunrise between two volcanos and get a smile and a selamat pagi from all the villagers coming past was magical too. Loved it all. Thanks Bobby!

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Janur is a place with attention to detail. We were there for three days and enjoyed very much our stay. The staff doesn't speak english but they find their way to communicate with you. The room is comfortable and the location convenient - near Borobudur, restaurants and activities using grab. Be aware that grab doesn't work always - from our experience, from 20h it's difficult to get one available driver so the best is to get a contact of a private driver (you can do that with your first grab driver - they normally all work independently). Bobby is very responsive and kind!

We stayed in the bungalow closer to the entrance and it's very noisy. Until 20h or 21h and from 6am you can listen to cars and motorbikes because the bungalows are made in wood and the sound just goes into your room. The call for muslim's prayer is also very strong but I would say that's part of the cultural experience! If you can, choose a bungalow near the pool instead.
