Sansala Guesthouse & Restaurant

We had a few nights in this comfortable guesthouse and it was really nice. The owners and the staff were all very friendly and kind, flexible and warm. It’s a family run place so we, a family of 4, felt like we were home. 3 min walk to the beach, enough shade and plenty of space if you want to bask in the sunshine. They also arranged the taxi to take us to the airport or tuk-tuk if We wanted to go to the town. Great place to relax, have some food and enjoy the beauty away from the noise of the city. Recommended!!!

Everything. Lovely hosts, clean well located accommodation, generous breakfasts.

The room has a nice private area outside the front door with chairs to relax on in the shade. The property has lots of trees and plants and you can hear all sorts of birds and frogs which gives it a tropical feel. The family is friendly and helpful. The room is an ok size. The bathroom is large. The breakfast is good. The bread is very nice. The property is a short 5 min walk to the local beach.

My room was close to the family area and at times it could be a bit noisy.

The location was amazing right across from the beach. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was great.

The family running the property acted like they hated having guests. The property in general was a mess. Breakfast somehow took an hour to produce scrambled eggs and toast (they were very good eggs though). And it took forever to actually pay my bill. I started asking the night before and a few times the next morning. When our taxi was finally there she made a big production of having to do it.

We had one of the best dinners of our lives (fresh tuna, calamari with salad) Niroshi is an incredible chef! The tuna was perfect, the pancakes delicious, and the Sri Lankan breakfast was outstanding. Her husband also runs Nethumi Beach Restaurant, a lovely beach bar where we relaxed daily, enjoying free sunbeds when ordering from them. The food there was also great. We highly recommend this guesthouse for a full Sri Lankan experience!”

Nothing to complain.

The location was a quick walk to a very nice beach and close to other nice areas.
