Lovely, welcoming host, overall a rather nice house which was very enjoyable to stay in, quite good location for many attractions.

Low lintels, corridor-like layout of the house meaning little privacy in case of needing a glass of water or toilet at night; everyone has issues keeping the shower temperature within comfortable range (if turned down from hot, the boiler would shut down).

Extremely spacious rooms with everything you need just for two of us. Very calm place to stay, beautiful garden and yard, some cats playing around. Friendly owner Maria. ~1-1,5 km there is a small shop for some food, beverages and some nice restaurants near (Domino restaurant omelette was the best!). Staff from booking messages respond quickly to our questions.

Majority of our towels were with these unwashed stains and it was lot of them in different towels. Towels by itself looks clean, but I really suggest you to change these old towels, because you can find clients who won't be nice about it like we did :) Maria don't speak english at all so it was a bit challenge to talk while arrive, but gesture language is universal.

we didn’t quite know what to expect. I think the listing suffers a little from being lost in translation. So, it’s an entire apartment- 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, a well stocked kitchen, a living room, and a cosy little outside area with a table and 2 chairs. The apartment is in such a quiet part of the island, the silence at night is blissful! it’s a 30 minute walk down a footpath to the lighthouse- there is a cafe on the way. there is also a fantastic restaurant- O Farolam- 500m away. In hindsight, we would have stayed longer.

Very quiet location. Beautiful front "garden" with many muscats flowers. Spotless apartment, good size.

As already mentioned in comments: the apartment itself is old (looks like old grandmum's apartment) - not modern funiture, rather old (but functional!) kitchen, old fashion style. And yes, humidity and smell of it. It also means, that the apartment was cold, but with the additional electric heater (before going to bed, you have to switch it off, because it is noisy 😞.) For a short stay, one, two days, it is ok, but for a longer stay (more than 2days), I would find something better. Humidity is a problem everywhere in Madeira....
