Thilina Homestay

1. Hospitality and feeling being part of their family. 2. Trying traditional food prapared by the homestay people. 3. Also the way overall tour was arranged, not so hectic yet could cover many things that we wanted to visit.

Thilina and his wife were so incredibly kind, helpful, and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, made fresh everyday. It is situated in the middle of the jungle, where one can enjoy the tranquility of nature but also very close to tourist attractions. I would come back! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Thilina is very nice and friendly guy with the heart at the right place. Even though he faced unpredictable challanges as Haus grandmother died surprisingly a few days ago and je had to organize a lot these days, he took time to be us a guide and made our stay as nice and interesting as possible. His wife is a very good chef and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast there. I highly recommend his homestay and him as a guide for the sights around. His English is very good and he knows a lot about history and culture of Sigiriya and Pidurangala.

We had such a lovely stay he! Thilina and his family was so warm and welcoming! They were super helpful! He helped us plan our stay in Sigiriya and the rest of our trip in Sri Lanka. The food was home cooked and super good! We definetly recommend going on a tour of Sigiriya with Thilina, we learnt about the elephants, farming an treehouses! The location is super good as well, it felt like it was in the middle of the jungle but it was really close to Pidurangala rock and not far from town.

Amazing to have a certified guide as a host! He helped with all aspects of the trip including tours and transportation! The home was comfortable and the food was delicious!

There wasn’t WiFi or very good signal in the room, but Thilina offered his hotspot kindly.

Thilina and his family were extremely warm and welcoming. The house is situated in the middle of the jungle and you wake up with a lot of bird calls. Thilina's wife showed us how to cook traditional Sri Lankan food and Thilina told us a lot about Sri Lankan culture and the people. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, you are right. And there is much more to do than Pidurangula or Sigiriya rock, so make sure to plan two or three nights! We only stayed one night and regret it.
