Great place to stay in Siracuse. It is close to archaeological site of Neapolis and the basilica of the Madonna delle Lacrime. And just about 15-20 minutes walking to Ortigia. The host Marilena is amazingly friendly and nice. I was arriving much earlier than the check in and she just let me in. And she sent me very kind message after I left. The famous Sicilian hospitality! You have a simple breakfast, which is especially convenient if you need to go out early. The room was big and very clean, had a little fridge and a nice balcony. It is actually a flat with three rooms and shared kitchen, which is very useful. You can store your things in a big fridge in the kitchen in a personally assigned box. I always do big food shopping in Italy, so for me it was very useful. You can also cook there if you want. There is cofee machine and also a moca pot for those who like me doesn't like machines. Big bonus - private parking. It is residential parking in the internal courtyard and I couls almost all the times find a place. And the only time when I didn't (because I came back very late at night) there was a free parking just few meters from there. If you are going to explore the area (Val di Noto or some Nature Reserves) it is also much easier to get out of the city from here than from Ortigia. So it is really a great place!

There was no such a thing :) Not a bad thing, but you should be prepared to very minor interactions with other guests. At my stay there was a girl who was almost constantly in the kitchen, but it didn't bother me really, except that she complained to the host that someone was taking her food, while it seemed that at the time it was only two of us there. Of course, that has nothing to do with the host or the place themselves. In the end it is just as in a regular hotel - you can run into weird people staying there with you. But if you are looking for entirely separate appartement you should know it.

Clean rooms, parking.

We've booked the placed based on photos/details listed by the host. We've got the impression that there is a room, with bathroom and kitchen for us only! But when we've arrived at the destination/flat we realised that it was an actual 3x bedroom flat, and each room was converted as a bedroom place where someone else was staying ..and the actual kitchen was shared. And as we didn't have the basic "privacy" that we wanted/looking to find, and knowing that in the other rooms (ok= rooms were locked*, but thin/apartment walls) and other strangers people were staying, we decided to look for something else and not to stay there. Photos and details of the flat were misleading, and I appreciate to add some clarity to the hosts posts for someone that is looking for something more privacy ( families, couples).

- Owner - the lady is really nice! She changed our room to bigger, explained everything - the room was nice, the balcony is too low, I didn't open it, it's not so safe - breakfast - typical italian was OK

- There were strange people around. Some male neighbor was watching us from his window. I was alone with my child and I did not feel 100% safe in that location. - the aircondition made strange noises at night :-) so we turned it off and we were cold

Nice room in Complex in Siracusa. Gated area for cars. Able to walk in at various places. Arrived and parked outdoors. Waited for host to arrive to let me in. Her apartment has 3 lockable rooms with ensuites and shared kitchen area where breakfast is laid out on tables. Everything in kitchen fridge for breakfast. Kettle and coffee maker. Room has double bed, comfortable, and good size bathroom. There is a minibar in room where you can pay for drinks. Wifi was ok, sometimes lagged but did the job. Aircon kept room warm. After I was given keys I brought my car inside complex. Lucky there was a space. It's about a 35 min walk to Castello.
