If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic stay by the coast, Feel Villa in Kalutara is an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality stood out—warm, genuine, and effortlessly attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The villa itself is beautifully maintained, blending comfort with a relaxed, homely vibe. Spacious rooms, clean interiors, and a calm atmosphere made it easy to switch off and just enjoy the surroundings. What really makes this place special is the setting. Surrounded by lush greenery and just a short distance from the beach, it strikes that perfect balance between privacy and accessibility. Mornings felt slow and refreshing, and evenings were ideal for unwinding. The food deserves a mention too—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It added to the overall experience rather than just being a standard add-on.

Echt alles was super geregeld. Voor alles werd gezorgd. De vriendelijkheid en hulpvaardigheid, het internet, het ontbijt, de hygiëne, echt alles was super.

Dan moet ik liegen

Een hele vriendelijke ontvangst door de eigenaar. Behulpzaam en gezellig. We kregen gelijk een vers geperst vruchtensap. Fijne kamer met uitzicht op een prachtige tuin vanaf het balkon. Heerlijk geslapen en ontbeten. Desgewenst veel tips van de eigenaren, een modern stel, en je kunt ook blijven dineren op aanvraag.

Niets. Wel handig om (eigen) vervoer te hebben.

We vinden het lastig om een beoordeling te geven. Dat komt omdat de gastheer, om het aardig te zeggen, over-enthousiast zijn best doet. Dat resulteert in een alles overheersende aanwezigheid en dwingende houding van de gastheer. We hoeven niet iedere dag een trip naar Bentota aangeboden te krijgen (als we daarheen hadden gewild, hadden we daar wel een paar overnachtingen geboekt) en het is heel irritant om naar een bloedhete ATM te moeten lopen omdat de gastheer persé contant betaald wil hebben. Het heeft ook geen zin om vol te houden dat de internet snelheid bij FEEL uitstekend en 'unlimited' is als de speedtest aantoont dat de snelheid niet boven de 5Mbps uit komt. Maar aan de andere kant heeft hij wel persoonlijk een gestrande reiziger (vanwege de Iran oorlog) begeleid. Kortom we houden mixed feelings over aan ons verblijf.

Die Gastgeber waren überaus freundlich. Der Hund, den sie von der Straße adoptiert haben, war sehr süß und verspielt.

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was comfortable and it was easy to access the town, which made getting around very convenient. The hosts were lovely and made me feel very welcome throughout our stay. I especially enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan food, which was delicious and a real highlight of the experience. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The bathroom is looking a little tired, but this is only superficial and did not affect the facilities or our comfort in any way. Everything worked perfectly well.

Victor and his family were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The home cooked breakfasts and dinners were authentic, varied and delicious. So much better than corporate impersonal hotels.
