It was cold, and uncomfortable, and not very pleasant

Not a lot. The nice lady I spoke to in order to check in and the nearby main road, with local amenities, that was the best thing about the stay. I had another stay booked for this property in August, but after this first stay, I promptly cancelled a second stay. Would not stay there again if I was paid to.

This property is not a hotel as described, it is a guestroom. A bed and breakfast without the breakfast, which is fine as it was not sold as a bed and breakfast, so I was not expecting breakfast. What I was expecting was a proper hotel room and not a dorm/student accommodation. The actual room we stayed in (room 2) was a tiny single room, with a double bed squeezed into it. The room was smaller than our single bedroom at home. There was no space for our bags and cases, we literally had to step out of the bed onto our suitcases which were on the small area of floor left, that is how tiny the room was. Also the room was not clean, there was dust everywhere, and pubic hairs in the bathroom as well as what looked like a fleck of excrement on the wooden door frame in the bathroom. I would recommend bringing your own towels as their towels looked grubby. There is a wooden radiator cover over the small radiator in the room, it was not fixed to the wall so I was able to move it in an attempt to turn the radiator up as the room was cold. Oh dear, I wish I had not done that! From the amount of dust and dirt behind the radiator cover demonstrated that this 'hotel' room is not adequately cleaned. There was a tiny computer monitor-style screen for a TV on the wall with scrambling channels with no ITV, and a remote that did not work fully so there was no ability to turn the TV off (other than the mains) or to control the volume on the TV. This was by far the worst place I have stayed in and was not an adequate space for 2 people over a weekend. There was no parking available and the street was full with the same cars for the 2 days we were here, so we parked a 15 minute walk away and then on day of check out, brought the car closer and parked on the double yellows in order to repack the car. It is not a staffed property, which I did not mind.

Clean comfortable property. Beds were comfy with plenty of pillows. Plenty of plugs in the room. The only down side to our room was the glass panel above the door to the room. Because of the glass panel every time the corridor light went on it lit up our room and disturbed my sleep. I would say the panel needs boarding over. Other than that great stay with great communication from Dawn.

Room was clean and tidy and great value for money would definitely recommend and would return staff lovely too

Location is perfect. Everywhere clean and tidy. Nice comfy bed with extra covers if needed. Dawn is so accommodating and went over and above for us during our stay. 2nd time at the Gables and our 1st choice for next time we visit Blackpool.
