Nooitgedacht Town Lodge

The best thing about this establishment is its location in terms of restaurants. One is literally surrounded by them. The facility itself is acceptable.

I suggest attention should be paid to the maintenance aspect, e.g. the bathroom lights did not work; the fridge was not running. Small things, but irritating.

When we got there it was extremely hot and we hooted and waited for a while. There was also a room next door to ours and inside the room was an interleading door which was unlocked, although there was a single bed against the door, but you could easily push it to go into the next room which is a security concern. The bathroom look unfinished and there were damp patches at various places. The surface of the bath was peeling off. The skirtings in the bathroom were mismatched. The bedroom was lovely and the bed super comfy, however there were ants crawling all over us in the night. We were driving a bakkie and the back was dusty so early the next morning we unpacked the boot and found a hose and put all the contents on the side of the bakkie including Christmas presents for my grandchildren. My husband hosed out the back, came back into the room for 2 minutes while the excess water ran off, then went back out to find that one of the Christmas presents had been stolen. So that was extremely annoying. We found the placed extremely overpriced for what we got.

Convenient location just off a main road through Colesburg.

The website was unclear that breakfast was not included nor available. To have to use electric extension cords is unacceptable. The signposting was was poorly sited - after circling the long block we had to phone to be met.

I liked that it had a much needed aircon.

We were quite clear about the time we were arriving. Being 40deg celsius, it would have been appreciated if the aircons were running for when we arrived.
