- walls were a bit thin so could hear what was happening in the hallways - not an issue For us but lots of stairs to access the suite which wouldn’t work for anyone requiring a lift/elevator

The apartment was very well-located for access to the train station, which is a real boon when travelling with luggage. The instructions to check in were ace, and recommendations for restaurants sent before check in were highly appreciated. The hosts, whom we didn't actually meet, went way above and beyond any expectation for hospitality after a waiter from a nearby restaurant accidentally spilled some oil from a pasta dish on one of our party's white trousers - he contacted Alessandro immediately and the next day the hosts came to pick up the trousers, and managed to get the stain out almost completely (bearing in mind it was quite a large greenish oil stain!). That level of consideration and the kindness and flexibility Alessandro displayed as we coordinated was something I haven't encountered before. The space itself is very nice and comfortable, and was really good value for Vernazza. They've really done the work to optimise the apartment for medium-term guests, to the extent that you have a fridge and good cups and glasses, with restaurants and coffee shops right outside your window.

We couldn't find any extra towels - but perhaps we didn't look in all the right places! With the need to shower every day in humid August, it would be nice to have an obvious abundance of towels. I'd have appreciated a microwave or toaster oven for the times when it was not possible to make a dinner reservation! On a note totally unrelated to the apartment and its hosts, and therefore not impacting the review at all, is that I would absolutely not recommend to anybody to go to Vernazza or the Cinque Terre generally in summer. We actually left a night early from our three-night stay because the crowds were just totally overwhelming. It was unpleasant beyond description to even get off the train - we had to queue for about ten minutes on the platform to go down the stairs into the town, which was packed cheek-by-jowl with harried travelers. To eat in the evening, you absolutely have to have a reservation, or else queue for an age. The oil-spilling incident was a result of the massive overcrowding and extreme pressure on the waiters to get to all the hangry. Seriously just do not go in summer.

Great location, clean and comfortable place to stay! We love it. Lots of stairs but the whole town and area has lots of stairs so just be aware.

Great location! The room was perfect.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Perfect location in Vernazza. Walking distance from station/ shuttle drop-off and 1 minute walk from the beach. Check in was smooth with keys provided in lockbox. Great communication with hosts. Modern apartment, comfortable beds and a great hideaway from the crowds. In the midst of everything, but not noisy at all. Two sets of stairs to get to apartment, but doubt if there will be anything in Vernazza without stairs.

Rather take a ferry/ train than your own car. The road to Cinque Terre/ Vernazza is narrow and challenging. Although the parking recommended by hosts worked perfectly and the shuttled drop-off is an easy walk to the apartment
