South House-Weligama

Beautiful property with just the 2 rooms available. So comfortable and everything you could possibly want. Spotless wonderful bed linen and towels. Lovely breakfast and plenty of food. Aneke and team are just wonderful so welcoming and attentive. We had a must enjoyable stay for 2 nights and will certainly stay again if we go back to Weligama.

There is absolutely nothing to dislike. One point to note it is the far side of the bay so a bit remote from the main bars and restaurants. However a 10 minute tuk tuk ride will bring you there.

So homely and everyone made you so welcome.

Unfortunately it was raining all night and the drains near the road to this beautiful place were blocked and bit muddy.

We had a lovely stay at South House being looked after so well by Anke and her team. This was our treat to ourselves at the end of our time in Sri Lanka and it was the perfect place to relax! The pool is stunning and the seating area is really lovely to sit and unwind. Breakfast was lovely and the room itself was so comfy and thoughtfully designed. The shower deserves a mention, I miss it!

South House is a beautiful and well maintained hotel, located in a rural and quiet area, a 10 minute drive away from Weligama town. From check-in until check-out we felt so much taken care of by the wonderful personnel at South House. The whole property is very clean, the rooms are spacious, bathroom with hot shower, towels and bedsheets smell very lovely, which adds to the beautiful atmosphere. The breakfast was another highlight during our stay. We loved so much the homemade pastries and the Sri Lankan Rotis. Also, an early check-out was arranged for us and we even got a breakfast to take away, both of which we appreciated so much. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and would like thank Anke and Malka as well as the entire team at South House for our pleasant stay.

Anke and her ladies from South House-Weligama are a dream. You come as a stranger and leave as a friend. You are lovingly greeted with home-made cakes and are spoiled again at breakfast every day. The rooms are very clean and appropriately furnished. The entire house with the pool and garden exudes a feel-good atmosphere. Anke is always ready with suggestions and recommendations. We felt completely at home! Many thanks again to Anke and her ladies!

The breakfast each morning was great and had really healthy options. The location is perfect and is around 200m from a quiet beach. The property itself was always very clean and was nice to come back to after a long day. Anke the host was very welcoming and had lots of information on what to do in the local area and where to eat etc.

Such an amazing place! We had such a lovely time in the south house, the hosts are absolutely amazing and happy to help with anything we needed!♥️ Anke and the rest of the team are just incredible and so so so nice. We originally booked only 2 nights but eventually stayed for almost a week! The pool is incredibly pretty and the place is so calm quiet and relaxing. Breakfasts are absolutely amazing and Anke’s French toast is to die for!!! Could not recommend more and can’t wait to come again

Absolutely nothing

Beautiful setting. Luscious green setting. Amazing pool. Host was really accommodating and greeted us with juice and cakes. A very beautiful hotel with a delicious breakfast included.

A little far from main Weligama but it was incredibly peaceful so not really an issue.

We were already looking forward to our last stop of our trip but we still got positively surprised. The South House is such a special place. Anke and the other staff are so kind, open and helpful that we directly felt home. The place is so pretty and intimate with only two rooms. We stayed there with our friends in the two rooms and it felt like our place. The rooms are spacious, very big and comfortable bed, great bathroom and with the AC very nice during hot days. We enjoyed staying at the pool, the beach also for surfing is, close by, there is a bus stop around the corner so you can easily get in the city centre or to other great places at the beach. For everyone that wants to calm down and relax and does not need a central location, we can only recommend and will come back for sure.

There is nothing I could mention that was not great.

South-house Weligama is the paradise. Everything was simply wonderful, the breakfast, the garden, but most importantly the hosts. Thank you very much, everything was fantastic.
