Generous meals with a mix of traditional and good home cooking. Our hostess was kind and generous with her time. Translation apps helped us many times to communicate. There is a beautiful, mostly sandy beach across the road, and I loved the sound of the gentle waves at night. In September, the water temperature was just perfect. The Sanriku rail line is just a few minutes walk and there are many day trips possible.

It did not worry me, because I had an eye mask, but the top, end room has a fire escape light and a neon sign outside. I slept so well. So, have a mask or ask for another room.

Th dinner and breakfast are very delicious!

The host was very friendly and kind; as my Japanese is limited, we communicated with the help of Google Translate. The meals were delicious and generous. The room was large, with a beautiful view.

Considering the price, it is excellent value. The bathroom is not the most updated, and the futon was a little thin, but these aspects were in line with my expectations given the budget.

The meals were phenomenal. High quality cooking of very traditional Japanese food. The quantities were large as well. I would estimate that a similar quality meal would cost 4000+ yen at a restaurant.

The room was very bright at night. The advertising sign outside was flashing and consequently the entire room was flashing orange all night. It would be good to include some dark curtains in the room.

View from the room was absolutely fantastic! Could see the ocean and hear the gentle waves roll in. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful even though I only speak a little japanese. Host was extremely gracious and kind to me. Food was also great! Bring your appetite cause breakfast and dinner are pretty big. Was able to sample several local specialities with the breakfast and dinner meals. Room was also very big and spacious. I think the biggest I've been in yet while traveling Japan. Location also very close to several of the sightseeing spots I wanted to see.

Overall was an amazing stay. Really enjoyed my time in Iwate. The only thing that was tricky was dealing with the limited train schedules. But that isn't anything the host can do anything about. She even helped me figure out how to get to my next place on time as the train schedule was a little difficult for me to understand.
