Station House Simondium

Loved the look and feel of the place. It was a house with many rooms with rustic finishes. All amenities are there and the pool is an excellent touch. We really enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable and relaxing.

We stayed for a wedding we were invited to close by and the room that we stayed in had no mirror so it was very difficult to get done as all mirrors were in the bathroom. Would have been great to have a full length mirror.

The owner Livi and housekeeper Stella were wonderful and helpful. Beautiful rustic decor and comfortable grounds. Felt safe! But the best part of all- Ginger the kitty cat who kept me company and was waiting from the gate when I got back from a wedding at 2 am :)

It was a little dark in the double room, but I had everything I needed. There was load shedding, but I never spent too much time at the place so did not bother me much

The bed was super comfy. Aircon was a life saver!

Livi, was the perfect host. She accommodated our every need.

No coffee machine.

The actual main building, pool, entertainment area etc is very cute and quaint like a little Italian villa which is what I was looking for when I searched for accommodation close to Vrede & Lust wine estate.

The ad description says the room has a 'view'. There is no view, the chalet looks onto the parking lot and we are subjected to the noise of the opening and closing of the main gate and vehicles. The noise of trucks and traffic at night from the main road which is right behind the boundary wall was also disturbing. The bed description on the booking says 'Fold-up bed' which I just presumed to be at least a queen sized bed in a 'chalet-type' room. The bed was a standard double bed which in this day and age of property rentals is highly unusual, just small for two adults. The bath room towels were dry but smelt like they hadn't even been washed when we checked in. We left a night early even though we'd paid in full.
