Batur Happy House

Nice acommodation, private. Close to the hot springs and Batur.

Super friendly host, taking care of any wishes.

It’s very well done, attention to detail. Really clean and comfortable. No AC but it was totally fine.

Hard to find. Maybe a bigger sign would be good. If you press “get directions” from the Booking app, it will send you to the wrong place. Luckily I searched directly in google maps. The address there is right. But you need to take the street that comes from the main road, not the one that comes from above. Also maybe I would add some fly nets to the windows.

People were super kind and respectful. I was running the Bali Ultra Trail and they allowed me to have a late check out. it’s a very basic accomodation but with good location to Mt Batur, spotless clean, hot shower and quiet.

Sadly a lot of these rural areas have a lot of litter around them. the surroundings are not pristine or clean, so if you are a “fancy” traveler it won’t be a place you would enjoy. Happy House was super clean and lovely tho, but the walk to get there is not. I’m a seasoned traveler so I didn’t mind.

Lovely, spacious bungalow with very comfortable bed and hot shower. Great position to trek Mt Batur and then go to the hot springs. 2 night stay was perfect amount of time to do these things. Appreciated Nyoman quickly organising our trek up Mt Batur as we arrived late the evening prior. Ayu (Nyomans niece) was an excellent, non-intrusive guide helping us to overtake crowds when necessary and finding us peaceful place to have a lovely breakfast at the top to enjoy the view. Wayan, Nyoman’s wife, is a great cook and prepared a tasty, spicy fish dish on second night called nyat nyat which was delicious and Nyoman made us his yummy banana pancake after the hike (Wayan revealed that she was the one to teach him the secret recipe!).

Location ( near the start of trail to Batur and lake). Clean, comfy bed. Restaurants are close, too ( I liked food af Warung Makan Volcano Mesari)

Detailed advices about trekking to Batur ( not everyone wish to go when huge number of people and in the middle of the night with local guides), especially how to find trail. not being so much against using Grab car

Very friendly, generous host, who helped us organise Mt. Batur trekking. Lovely place, near good restaurants and ATM. Clean rooms with big, comfortable beds.

The room didn't have A/C, but it's not really a problem - nights under Mt. Batur are cold.
