Everything was fine, hot water was always available and the hotel was located very close to the churches which are the main reason to visit Lalibela.

The staff wasn't too happy when I wanted to pay by card, but I insisted because they have that option listed on the booking.

Lalibela is an amazing little town, and the Blue Nile Hotel is right in the heart of it all—less than a five-minute walk to the famous rock-hewn churches. The on-site restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and each comes with a balcony offering a lovely view. The hotel itself is great—but what truly makes this place special is the staff. From the owner down to the security guards, everyone greets you with genuine warmth. I was amazed at how welcome I felt every time I stepped out of my room. I cannot speak highly enough of the team here. Beyond the accommodation and hospitality, the staff also recommended a tour guide who equally impressed me. What started as a tour quickly became an experience shared between friends. The memories I made will last a lifetime. Even if you choose to stay elsewhere, I would still highly recommend using their tour guides—you won’t be disappointed.

There isn’t anything to complain about at this hotel.

Best location in Lalibela. Write down the street and up on a hill with a gorgeous view of the city and surrounding hills. Highly recommend

The location is absolutely great! The churches are just 5-10min walk. Restaurant has an international cuisine. Staff is friendly and helpful. They even organized my transportation from and back to the airport without me asking for it. Special thanks to the receptionist Lidetu! He speaks a decent English and is always willing to assist you!!! Thanks Lidetu!!!

The WiFi could be improved, but is was better than I expected.

Belle et grande chambre, personnel très sympathique, eau chaude, bon internet, très confortable et vue sur la vallée, en plein centre de la ville. Très bon rapport qualité prix ! Bon déjeuner. Ils m'ont aussi mis en contact avec le guide Telake qui était exceptionnel :)

Great value. Friendly staff. Basic and yet clean. Credit card payment also worked thankfully. Has connection with personal tour guide but tour pricing was not transparent, written on paper. Has a cafe which offers delicious dinner of fasting vegetarian meal. Power outage all night the first night.

Room wifi was on a hidden network. Staff has to input the password while standing in front of the room. I could NOT login to some work apps because hidden network is considered unsafe and can collect personal data.

Support from manager Lidetu was outstanding! He made me feel home and he was available at all times. A true gentlemen
