New Bahia

The hotel is welcoming and has a certain charm, which gives a good first impression. During my stay, there was only one staff member available, but she was kind and eager to help, doing her best to assist whenever needed.

Despite its charm, the hotel doesn’t live up to its price and is clearly in need of improvements. The location, while relatively close to the main square, becomes a downside over time, as the way back involves navigating chaotic traffic, poorly lit streets, and stretches without sidewalks. After a few days, this daily walk feels tiring and inconvenient. Communication was also a challenge, as the only staff member present didn’t speak English and spoke very little French, making even simple requests difficult to handle. Additionally, I was only informed about the municipal tax at the very end of my stay - and since the hotel doesn’t accept card payments, I found myself almost out of cash, which caused unnecessary stress.

The stuff was very helpful and friendly, especially Zaid, who prepared coffee and breakfast earlier than usual on our last day! The lady who prepared breakfast was always smiling to us and cooked delicious food. The people working there made our stay much better.

The riad needs some improvements: the bathroom door was hard to close and made noise, the shower floor had mold, the shower head did not work properly and the towels were very old.

Riad behind the Bahia Palace. Very good location, convenient within walking distance to the city center. Good value for money. Towels were changed and the room was cleaned every day.

Since there are no windows in the rooms, they are dark and humid. It was extremely cold, because you enter the room directly from the entrance area, which is open (without a roof). The room temperature is basically the same as the outside temperature. The air conditioner did not work properly — it barely heated up to 20-21°C. The breakfast was poor. Since the door has no insulation at all, you can hear everything in the entrance area — people talking, tables and chairs being moved, etc. If you’re looking for peace and privacy, it will be difficult.

Logement bien situé au bord de la médina, permettant de tout faire à pied. Notre chambre ne donnant sur le devant de l'établissement, les nuits étaient calmes. Logement typique marocain. Petit déjeuner copieux et très bonne demi-pension avec des plats locaux variés et excellents servi par Zaïd, par ailleurs très serviable et parlant correctement français. Si nous avions réservé une activité en soirée, le repas pouvait être pris à midi. Suite à un problème de grève d'avion, Fatima n'a pas hésité, sans contrepartie et bien que le logement n'était pas remboursable, à décaler d'un jour notre séjour.

Manque peut-être juste une bouilloire dans la chambre.
