Highly recommend

We booked 2 nights at Serenity to stay at for a friends wedding. The property is situated next to the Danube river and has some really gorgeous scenery, especially first thing in the morning. The room was clean, comfortable and we could park our car directly outside as there weren't many other guests. There was a pool as well as outdoor BBQ/cooking facilities but we didn't use these. The staff/admin person was also really nice, and was able to provide an iron and ironing board at relatively short notice which we really appreciated.

The location of the property is pretty remote, and there is no food or water provided in the room itself, so you'll need to remember to bring your own supplies. There is a Lidl 15 minutes drive away and other hotels/guest houses nearby have restaurants. There are stray dogs in the area and it can be a little intimidating at night if you're walking outside. One night we returned and there were 2 strays fighting/growling outside the room next to ours which was a bit worrying, but we were able to go into our room with no issue.

I would have rated 10 for the location of the property, the comfort and the size of my room or for the nice heated pool with view to the Danube.

Unfortunately our stay was ruined by some noisy guests accommodated in the same time. When we arrived, it was already a noisy pool party, if the reservation wouldn't have been prepaid, I would have cancelled the reservation from the beginning. I asked the host if the music is going to stop at night and she said that it should be, but if it wouldn't we should speak with the other guests to stop it. Luckily the guest's agreed to turn the music down, but still spending most of the night and talking in from of our window didn't allow us to rest well. For the second night, we had the same issues with different guests. They were talking loud, jumping in the pool, clinking glasses long after midnight. Both days we had to choose to spend the evenings at a nearby property, to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere by the Danube. We could see from there the heavy smoke at the Serenity, made by the guests which were cooking a barbecue. Serenity will be a great choice if you don't mind partying with strangers or listening random loud music. We have mislead by the name of the property and hoped that we will heave a quite and peaceful stay, enjoying this beautiful natural scenery. We told the host that we have not been happy and she asked the noisy guest to come and apologise to us. This didn't make us happy and I don't think that this is the way to resolve the problems: encouraging guest to solve the issues by their own or confronting them with each other. I would have expected some simple rules and some reinforcement when these are not obeyed: - Music should not be played by the guests, as the musical tastes are so different. On-line radios with chill music are a solution, if music is mandatory. Otherwise the sound of nature is always the best music option - Music volume should be kept to lowest level - Set a clear schedule for the pool and do not allow using it after a certain hour - Do not allow cooking in the common space.
